Born in Tibet in 1932, Geshe Khenrab became a monk at the age of eleven. At the monastery near his birthplace, Penam, he studied the fundamental practices of Buddhism and memorized the sadhanas of Guyusamaja, Yamantaka, and Chakrasambhara. In 1956, he joined Drepung Monastery and studied the Five Great Treatises through the traditional dialectic system used by the great Buddhist masters. These studies were continued in India after Drepung was re-established in exile. geshe_khenrab.jpg (3995 bytes)
