Rationale
This lesson meets the domain requirements by having students
research, read, interpret, and write a compare/contrast journal. The project
is aligned to the Indiana State Standards. The local curriculum is aligned
to the state standards.
Self-Evaluation and Reflection
The project went well, however it may have been more effective
to require a series of smaller products due to time constraints.
How Observed and/or Verified
This project is verified through student products: journals,
books, photos and tests. Additionally, students take pre and post vocabulary
tests.
Validation of Student Learning
The vocabulary pre and post-tests show that all students improved
their French holiday vocabulary. The journals show that the students understand
the French holiday traditions and that they are able to compare and contrast
the two.
