| Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us. The optimist thinks this is the best of all possible worlds. The pessimist fears this is true. Time is the best teacher; unfortunately it kills all its students. The world's full of apathy, but I don't care. I'm still not sure if I understand ambiguity. The nice part about being a pessimist is that you are constantly being either proven right or pleasantly surprised. Optimistic apathy: things will work out, but if they don't who cares? |
