Biographical Information
Judy graduated from MSU in history and English for teaching. She taught in many different states: Detroit area, Michigan; Denver, CO; Bellevue, Nebraska; Downers Grove, IL; Elk Mound, WI; as well as a year in DOD school in Pusan, Korea. Somewhere in the course of these changes, she earned her MA in history from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Unfortunately her 16 year marriage ended in divorce in 1982. Her two great sons are a result of that union, so she is grateful. During the single years, she earned an EdS in counseling and guidance. She remained single for 19 years waiting for the right man. She found him (or did he find her?) nearly four years ago. They have been married for two years now and they have been great times. Her first husband was in the Air Force. She followed him over to Korea and ended up teaching at the DOD (Department of Defense) school. Says Judy, "It surely was an interesting experience. I have truly been blessed with foreign travel: I have been to Mexico, Korea, Japan, Okinawa, England, Scotland, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Austria, and the Ukraine (this year) as well as ALL 50 states." In 1991 Judy took her two sons (then 18 and 14) to Switzitzerland, Italy, Austria, Greece, and Germany for her older son's HS graduation. She took them alone; driving a stick-shift car the whole way. "I left it (the car - picking it up on the way back) to go to Greece; took a ferry boat there and then sort of hitch-hiked from Patros into Athens. I have done some brave (dumb???) things. I wept when I was standing on the Acropolis looking at the Parthenon and the Porch of the Maidens."
