International Legolas Day Memories

With such phenomenal support from so many Legolas/Orlando websites the inaugeral International Legolas Day was a grand success!

Our many thanks go out to everyone who made things to promote the holiday (flags, skins, bookmarks, wallpapers, etc)

2002

Airebelethwen (Esteria) 
Wore the Blue undershirt from my Legolas Halloween costume and braided my hair like Leggy. Also plasted my wall with ever more Leggy pics! 
 
Angaannaiel 
I dressed up all in green, and told everyone I saw "Happy Legolas Day!!". I also had a Legolas Day party for my friends who had not seen the LOTR yet(so I HAD to show them the movie)and the ones who loved it already! I hung up my Legolas poster and had a great day!

Before LD, I told A LOT of peeps at my school to wear green. Ok, anyway, I wore green, made lembas, told every1 "Happy Legolas Day!," and watched LOTR. I also took a pic w/my Legolas standup, my action figure, and with my Legolas flag.

Made and wore elf ears to school, all green, carried my action figure, put a blonde wig on my boyfriend, had a british accent (and a damn good one) all day...had lembas for all 3 meals....and snack...so yea i think thats it...hmm

I wore a green shirt (under my school uniform), green eyeshadow, and i put a big legolas pic in my transparent folder for everyone to see.

well i only realized it was ILD at 5pm *shakes head in shame* i know i know... so i made my msn name to arrows shooting a luv heart and drew a pikky of him, oh and i whatched FOTR 4 the 60th time exactly (yes i have counted!)

Wore my specially made T shirt and persuaded my work colleagues to eat our lunch in the woods. It was pouring with rain and we could not eat for laughing!

Well, seeing as I'm the only LotR fans for miles, I was pretty mellow in my celebration. I did wear my one ring to school, though. And my blog posts were mostly Legolas related. Oh, and I wished all my friends a happy legolas day, or course...

I wore my ear tips all day (getting some rather strange looks, but it was worth it), wore my One Ring on it's chain, dressed all in green, and spent several minutes staring at my Legolas poster. In honor of the day *and my birthday* my older sister gave me a life-sized carboard stand up of Legolas.

I dressed up for International Legolas Day!  I wore green leggins, with a green tunic which had a leafy design on it (It was very Mirkwoodish looking) , and I wore my hair like Arwen (two long strands hanging down in the front, with the part over my ears pushed back.) when we first meet her in Fellowship of the Ring.  Everyone at work loved the hair!  I look forward to next year!

First I watched TLOTR about a million times. Then I threw a party I hung up cardboard cut outs around my house and got everyone to dress up as a character from TLOTR and of course everyone dressed up as Legolas. I then had a cake wich had Legolas' picture on it. By the end of the party everyone was sick of Legolas.......but not me!!!!

This was my first Legolas day and it was great! The only cloud over the sunshine was the fact that my Net was down and I couldn't go online. Buti did as much as i could: my best friend (who's also an obsessive Legolas fan) and I made lembas and gave each other and our friends (they were a bit doubtful at first, but I assured them it was nutritious).
We had our class party that day, and though we still had to arrive in uniform (bummer....couldn't wear green), I still wished almost everyone I could "happy Legolas day!" and even wrote it on the blackboard (our supervisor who dropped in was rather puzzled..).
After that, i got home and watched the trailers of both movies, the special features, the ROTK special, the Orlando interview and all my other elf/Legolas related stuff.
And oh, yeah, sat in front of my poster and drooled while listening to music that reminded me of him ("You look so fine....i wanna take you home...." you get the idea).
Plus i posted my poem "Ode to Legolas" on the message board.....i think CC has it up on the Tributes page...not sure.
That was it, but it was fun.
Here's to a great day in celebration of our favourite golden-haired elf prince, and many more yet to come!

I got up late....and went shopping, since I was running late I didn't get the chance to tie the green ribbon I was going to wear in my hair!.
 Yet, as I was home that night I sat down and watched the Two Towers......skipping to  the bits with Legolas in them!!!! I had a very relaxing day.....

I curled up in my neatly decorated elven-like room and watched FotR and TTT all th way throuh and watched all the Leggy extras. I wore a green shirt and used a green scrunchie in my hair (I fainty recollect falling asleep painting my nails green as i can't figure any other time I may have done it )
I straightened my Leggy poster and came online and flicked through a load of videos an sites of my fave elf... and thats about it! I'm not a very good cook so lembas baking was out of the question hehe

 Drooled over some pictures of Legolas.  
 And watched Two Towers.

Handed out Legolas bookmarks in the local library..
Watched TTT via my DVD  and internet chat room.. with a group of obsessed elf lovers..
Tried a new variation on my chocolate lembas .. added sliced banana too.. but had no cinnamon.. so used allspice and gave my elf hiccups..

Lady Mara Cailowyn
This was my first Legolas Day. I was so happy to be a part of it and so my first task was to finish and present my Leggy Day page and gift to the group.
I also spent my day, creating gelatin elf ears..
And some fab elven jewelry from aluminum and copper wire.
 I had a great deal of fun and I can't wait for next year.

I celebrated Legolas Day 2003 by wearing my Elven Leaf Brooch and becoming a vegetarian.

Well, I went bushwalking with my husband, best friend and her partner. We were out appreciating nature and that's a very Elvish thing to do! 
 I posted a poem here *blushes*
I customised my desktop wallpaper to a Legolas Day design.
I took the "Holding out for a Hero" LOTR music vid (burnt on a CD) with me on the day so my best friend and I could watch it. She drooled over Aragorn though (silly girl!) I made lots of suggestive comments about Legolas (o' course!!) 
I forgot! I wore my One Ring...the reason I forgot about that is because I wear it every day anyway!!

Since I had to work most of the day,I wasn't able to do much.  Talon, my daughter and I worked on one of my LOTR puzzles, that was fun (Talon's first puzzle).  I couldn't wear green since I wear a uniform, so I made sure to wear green undergarmets...lol.  Had to do my part.  Wished everyone a Happy Legolas Day, and drooled over my Leggy pictures when I got home from work.

I studied for midterms (blah), wore green, tried to study for miderms some more, got distracted by a Johnny Depp movie (Chcolat and then The ManWho Cried) had a toast with my Elves, snuggled with Lae, hung out with my sisters...tried to study for midterms...
 
Not too eventful...would have been carrying my Leggy figure around if I hadn't left him in my room (shame on me!)...
 
It was my Grandma's 81st birthday too, so I gave her a call...
 
Hopefully next year I'll have a huge party or something.  For the hell of it.  >:)

I wore my TTT shirt (which has Leggy on it), my replica of the One Ring and my ILD button for the duration of the day. Since it was my birthday, I got a few LotR/Leggy presents--the Legolas figure w/horse set (who is now sitting on the kitchen table) and a poster puzzle w/Leggy, Aragorn and Gimli. I wished people Happy Legolas Day and put up a banner in our kitchen to announce it.

I did the usual-dressed in green, wore my Legolas' Harem shirt and had my hair braided like our favorite elf.  I also made lembasand served it on the lembas plate posted on the craft board to my family.  I wished everyone I saw a happy legolas day and got many raised eyebrows in return.  I watched FOTR and TT.  Oh, I also carried around my Legolas magnet because I have yet to get a keychain.  I think this year's was better than last.  Happy Legolas Day eveyone!!!

Hey!  I'm the first!  My LOTR monopoly arrived as well as my new ROTK door poster of our sexy elf.  I had my Legolas keychain with me the entire day, so he was never far from my thoughts.
