do I join my local squadron of the SAL? Who
is the SAL, (The Sons of the American Legion)? The
Sons of The American Legion (SAL) is a program of The American Legion
established in 1933 in Portland, Oregon. Since then, the Sons of The
American Legion has assisted The American Legion with their programs and
activities. The Sons of The American Legion in 1998 attained an all time
high membership of over 211,256 members nationally. The largest Detachment
(State lever) has over 28,000 plus members. There are trophies and awards
given to Detachments and Squadrons for the largest membership, and the
largest increase in membership. The
American Legion, The Sons of the American Legion, and The American Legion
Auxiliary for the "Legion Family." A family with a total
membership of nearly 4.2 million members.

uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.
