December 2003 page 3 Auxiliary
Jan Schmidt President
It hardly seems possible that this is December and the year 2003 is almost over.  The Legion, SAL and Auxiliary have been busy working on all of their projects for the year.
BIRTHDAY DINNER:  I want to thank all of you who helped make our Birthday Dinner a success:  Larry Goodale and his staff for the wonderful meal; the men from the Legion and SAL who served the dinner and also helped clean up; all who helped set up on Saturday morning; and the many Auxiliary members who helped out at the dinner with tickets, the drawing, and other tasks that needed to be done.  I also would like to thank Lois Poppe, Kay MacVey and Orva Carey for helping out with the very impressive Candlelight Ceremony and Ann Rehbein for the delicious desert.  Your help made this a very enjoyable evening for all who attended and it was greatly appreciated!
BUNKO:  After our meeting on December 2nd, we will play BUNKO.  If you would like to play, please bring a gift (wrapped in Christmas paper) worth $5.00.  Also, anyone who has dice to play with, please bring them.
COOKIE FAIR:  The Auxiliary will hold a Cookie Fair on Saturday, December 6th from 9:00 a.m. until closing at the Legion.  We need lots and lots of cookies!  If you are interested in baking cookies for the fair please contact Sandy Deacon, Ann Rehbein or myself.
MEMBERSHIP:  We are still trying to reach our goal of 314 members this year!  If you have not paid your dues, please send it in to Sandy Deacon at the Legion as soon as possible.
BINGO:  We have filled the slate with Bingo workers for the month of November, but there are only four of us doing the two Wednesday and all Sunday nights.  We need to get more workers!   If there is anyone out there who would like to help out working Bingo, please contact me.
CHRISTMAS PARTY:  There will be a Family Christmas Party at the Legion on Saturday, December 27th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Please plan to attend.
I wish all of the Legion, SAL, and Auxiliary members and their families a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR and pray for the many men and women who are serving our country that they will return home safely to their families and friends very soon.
