In the beginning of time, an entity known as Merlineous crafted the world from chaos. To accomplish this task, he first created for himself an item of great power, and artifact of astounding stature. After the creation of the universe, he split this device into many pieces and spread them throughout the realm for safekeeping, as it was too powerful to keep intact.
Millennia later, at the dawn of a new century, an evil power has risen to seek out the pieces of the artifact to restore it to use it to destroy the world as it exists today. The call has been sounded to the heros of the world to seek out these artifacts. Some to protect them and save the world, others with the cause and goal of taking the pieces to the evil, and bringing the world to total chaos and destruction. These to forces meet on the field of battle, waging wars that engulf entire kingdoms of man, and causing carnage and havoc across the lands, in an attempt to prevail.
