The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past came out in 1991 on the Snes.
The story of A link to the Past goes as follows. After a telepathethic message from Princess Zelda, Links Uncle goes out to investigate.
Link also goes out to investigate and before he knew it came upon his dieing uncle in the castle basement. Links Uncle then told him to take on the task himself.
After searching the castle Link found Zelda and they together escape to a sactuary. Unfortuneatly Zelda is captured not long after Link leaves her with the Priest.
Link then collects 3 necklaces and hones the Master Sword. After much toil he enters the Dark World and collects all the Princess contained gems.
Using these gems Link enters Ganons tower and Defeats him.
After Ganon's defeat Link claims the triforce and wishes for all of Ganon's evil left on the world to be removed and for a Lasting peace once again begin.
