For the Baby Boomers: STRANGE BUT TRUE...
One of the features of Detective Comics during the 60's was Ralph Dibny, The Elongated Man, who was not only a scientist but a detective of the first order.
Ralph got his stretching abilities after observing contortionists and Indian rubber-men drinking "Gingold Soda" and then distilling the juice of the Gingo berry.
Hermione Gingold, an actress, portrayed a witch named Mrs. De Pass in the film version of "Bell Book and Candle".
The plot of "Bell Book and Candle" was similar to the TV sitcom "Bewitched" which co-starred a similar character in Agnes Moorehead's Endora. Both Hermione Gingold and Agnes Moorehead were born in December.
Endora's husband, played by Maurice Evans, was also called Maurice. Hermione Gingold starred with Maurice Chevalier in the film "Gigi".
Endora's daughter, Samantha (played by Elizabeth Montgomery) would cast her witchy spells by twitching her nose... Something Ralph Dibny would do whenever he "detected the scent of mystery in the air."
COINCIDENCE, BABY BOOMERS? YOU DECIDE!
