This is where the page takes a bit of a 'personal' turn for me...
As a christian, I searched myself for many years..., wondering if it truly was against God to consume cannabis. What I was taught in church contradicted what I felt in my heart. Being a 1/2 wit, I employed all cerebral resources whenever possible to toil over this delimmea (like S.E.T.I.; "whenever you got a few extra clock-cycles to spare" ).
Naturally, when I inquired with my pastor:"NO!! Marijuana is a SIN!!" (I was baptised a Southern Baptist! believe it or not!); my heart STILL told me different... I kept pondering, observing...but most importantly; inquiring. Inquiring about what other people thought, as well as other religons. After all, we are taught (in ALL faiths) to be kind to our fellow man. Yet inspite of the teachings, we, as humans KILL, MURDER, & VIOLATE HUMAN RIGHTS without hesitation, "in the name of God".!! The spanish inquisition immediately springs to mind when I think of attrocities that have been visited upon my brethren by those seeking to rule over my thoughts and my freedom, "in the name of God". Well,...I am quite happy to say that my God is a God of compassion and love, and when someone thinks that they need to kill to enforce the will of the "god" that they say I MUST worship...well: I immediately think that this is not my God; for he teaches of kindness, love, and friendship. Equality and freedom of worship are also in the teachings,... I think someone screwed up the interpretation, if this is the way the Book reads, yet they follow a different action: Hypocrits!!
This leads me to believe that it must be a false God for which they persecute & kill.
Jesus turned water to wine...
As we all now know; wine (red) has beneficial health qualities, in moderation. We also know that alcohol has incredibly adverse health risks when abused; both physically and psycologically.
It is also condoned in the Bible, in moderation. Alcohol is dangerous to humans because it is POISON to our bodies, plain and simple. Cannabis, on the other hand, is quite safe for human consumption, in any reasonable amount of consumption there are NO measureable detrimental health effects, nor is it addictive physically in any way. Only mild psycological addiction has ever been documented with no physical indications of dependance ever recorded.
Is it possible that christianity has made another mistake?? Are they wrongly persecuting the cannabis user? I say: YES
How could any plant so useful and good for the planet and its inhabitants, be of satanic or demonic invention? Read on, as you will see; even the Holy Bible and God, Himself states that all plants bearing seed are here FOR us, as are the animals of the air, land and sea.
