| Kogue Ryoma - the rugged and friendly Hagakure ninja. The biggest of the three, usually happy and easy-going. He carries the Hagakure halberd. His father is Genyusai, leader of the Hagakure, and Kikyo was his little sister. He falls in love with Kayo, acting like a schoolboy, because she reminds him of Kikyo and grieves when he has to kill her. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Seven Oboro | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Saegusa Jinnai - the first of the seven Oboro. He is a large man with a mask and a necklace of giant beads used to smash enemies. He is killed by Ayame after he kills Kikyo. Otawa Genzo - the second Oboro. He uses illusions to capture enemies. He has red hair a gold half mask. Sakon kills him with Ryoan's help. Kiro Masago - the third Oboro. He has blue hair and ash-gray skin. He possessed Kayo and forced her to betray Iga. Ryoma kills Kayo in killing him. Kiheiji - the fourth Oboro. He has blonde hair and blue triangular marks under his eyes. He fights Ayame and then Sakon, nearly killing him. He can use a web to trap his enemies and is very effective with his spear/scythe weapon. Sakon kills him once he learns to call on the magic of his sword. Kagami - the fifth and last of the obvious Oboro. She appears to be a little girl in a kimono with big red eyes and black hair, but can animate corpses with her crying. She also carries a little ball which explodes. Ryoma is nearly killed by her because she appeared to be a harmless child (probably part of her power) but kills her instead. Oda Nobunaga - the warlord trying to take over the world. He has burned and destroyed temples and all the ninja clans who have fought him. He is very paranoid that someone will kill him. He distrusts everyone so much that he has his own guards killed. He only trusts Oboro and Ranmaru. At the end he is revealed as the most powerful of the Oboro, the Black Demon, but is unaware of it. Ryoan - the priest who guides Ayame, Sakon and Ryoma, also saving their lives several times with chanting. At the end, Ranmaru reveals that Ryoan is the last of the Oboro, programmed to bring the three shinobi to fight Nobunaga. He's a little bald guy with the typical kami and staff, and a habit of disappearing. |
