Guardian Forces

Final Fantasy VIII introduced Guardian Forces, a summoned creature of much more importance than those previously found from Final Fantasy II through Final Fantasy VII.  Some of them are very familiar, but this time they're alot more important to a character's vital statistics and abilities.  Junctioning with a GF gives a character unique powers, and the combinations allow for almost limitless customization.

Quezacotl - Legend tells that the plumed serpent of the Toltec and Aztec civilizations, the God of the morning and evening star, wil return in another age.

Cerberus - The triple-headed dog guardian of the entrance to Hades casts double and triple on all your characters.

Shiva - The Goddess of Ice makes her return... without most of her clothes.

Alexander - The holy healer and warrior is powerful with his Holy Judgement attack.

Ifrit - The old Final Fantasy faithful returns with useful abilities and a killer attack.

Doomtrain - (Grashaboras?) This ghoulish train can inflict large amounts of status damage.

Siren - The half woman, half bird of Greek myth, she has the power to cure status ailments with her wonderful song.

Bahamut - Valuing wisdom, knowledge, prophecies and song, he is ever-watchful of the cause of good, never sleeping in his palace in the Seven Heavens.

Brothers - The Sacred Minotaur duo, but the smaller one is the older and more powerful, and they're fun to watch.

Cactuar - (Also seen as Sabotender) Huge cactus that guards the desert mercilessly with his iron needles.

Diablos - This huge bat appears from the darkness and crushes the enemy with his Demi attack.

Tonberry King - (Tonberi) Holding just a kitchen knife and a lantern he appears harmless, but has hidden abilities and a quick and damaging attack.

Carbuncle - Named for the bright red gem in his forehead, he has many magic abilities that come in handy.

Eden - Eternally majestic, Eden can cause huge amounts of damage to those who oppose it.

Leviathan - The bible myth of the large and powerful sea monster brings the waters to engulf the enemy.
