Marcus is the son of Milo Roberts - the money behind the Foundation. He grew up knowing that his father had connections around the world and was fascinated by them. When the Foundation began, he begged his father to allow him to take on a role. He was denied and resented his father for that. As soon as he was old enough, he petitioned Edward for a job and was denied again. He knew that Edward was doing it out of respect for Milo so he went to his father and threatened to disown him if he would not let him follow his dream. Milo consented and Edward recruited Marcus, and gave him to David to train. He was assigned to the weapons and technology sector - which meant that he mostly stays behind the scenes. He has a feeling that his father had something to do with his placement. For now he does his job - but his goal is to become an active field agent.
