Lauren is a computer genius - although most are surprised to find out that she is a bit of a nerd. She was recruited much in the same way as David - she was given a choice...go to jail for hacking into government systems (on her spare time of course) or come work for the Foundation. Lauren thanks the heavens above that she made the right choice everyday. She has found a home for her unique talents and feels that what she is doing is important.
Lauren has contributed to the Foundation in many ways and is well liked by most for her quirky sense of humor (and ability to find just about anything on her computer). She has not be trained in anything beyond the basics of firing a gun. She doesn't feel like she needs to be nor does she think she could handle herself in a situation like that anyway.
