John was recruited first as a field agent. He came from a military background and is highly disciplined. He had a hard time adjusting to the Foundation's more underground practices but is glad he accepted the offer.
For the first few year he both participated and lead missions. It was noticed that he had strong leadership skills and a wide knowledge base. With the Foundation expanding, he was moved to training on a full time basis to free up agents for field work solely. The newest batch of recruits will be his first "class" and he plans to make sure that they are ready for anything.
In a pinch or when his expertise is needed, Edward has stated that John will be used as a field agent.
