As a child, Makoto spent most of his time with his mother and knows little of/about his father. While Makoto was an infant a green pigmy monkey had been fighting with a large bird in the sky and had managed to escape only to plummet to the ground. Makoto caught him from his impending doom and proceeded to play with the monkey. From then on Yeknom, the monkey's name, has never left Makoto's side. After the re-boot 10 years ago they wandered for some time until they came across Argent castle. Merlin made Makoto an advisor to him and master librarian. Makoto stayed in Argent until he felt pain when Archibald was dying on the pattern of Amber. Merlin set Makoto to Amber to allow him to figure out why.
Michael says about himself: "I am a recent pen and paper role player, this game being the first I actually played. I like almost any game that requires some strategy to it. Mostly I play rpg video games and have been doing so since before I began schooling. Big fan of Asian cultures and films especially anime. Have a twin, Jesus, who is currently in hell and enjoying himself with a mini gorilla.
