I got tired of playing a hero, so here's a villian (even if she doesn't look like one). How to explain this character... Donald was playing one of the Silent Hill video game series not long after I got done reading The Shroudling and the Guisel. And I thought, what would have happened if Alessa Gillespie would have had a shroudling (you know: the mirror hopping, ghoul-like avengers of wrongs... who eat their victims) attached to her, one who didn't like Dahlia's plan to bring about God? A little mishap on the night of the fire... and you end up with a shroudling as the Mother of God for the cult in Silent Hill. Then she realizes that she likes her position, it allows her to judge and punish so effectively, she just needs to clean up the actions of her cult a bit...
Then I decided to put her on the "Julian model": lots of creatures/items of powers and a big, nasty shadow. Who needs lots of powers when I've got (and can almost control) Pyramid Head. Except for the little GM home rule, nick-named "The Morgenstern Rule": if at any time your creature of power has more points in it than you have in stats, you belong to the creature. And since in Silent Hill, all of my creatures/items/the shadow itself are just manifestations of one thing (The Order's God)... So Janie is "God pwned", whoops :)
With Kyria having to stay in the castle (darn that duty-bound sense of honor), I got kinda bored. So I took a cut in points (the GM doesn't let us keep all the experience we've earned in the case of retirement) and brought in someone new. And, man am I having a ball with Janie. This villian stuff is pretty fun. Email me here if you's like in on more of Janie's dark secrets. :)
