Hey everyone. The Leftovers are going on a one-month hiatus and working on some new material. We are scheduled to play a few shows in November, but if we aren't ready on time then we wont be playing those shows.

Libbi has been kicked out of the Leftovers and we are seeking a new singer. We will be trying out a few people to replace her...

T-Shirts will be available by our next show for sure. They will probably come in small, medium, and large. Quanities will be limited. $10 per pop.

Thanks, marty

09-11-02: Updates marty
The show for September 27th @ the Clock with the Scamps, Stalemate, PEN15, and Lemming has been confirmed and will start at 7:00 PM. $5 at door. Should be a pretty good show and we're opening! So if you want to catch us be there at 7::00 PM SHARP. We should have shirts by the show on October 12th but we're still waiting for someone to try and design us one. If we don't get a design we'll probably just have a plain shirt and maybe an excerpt from one of our songs on the back. Thats all for now. Smell ya later.

09-03-02: Upcoming Shows marty
We're trying to get shirts before the Battle of the Bands (see our shows page.) We'd like to see if someone creative out there would like to try and design a shirt for us. If we like it and it meets our approval, we'll give you a free t-shirt and a free CD when it comes out. It doesn't have to be anything ground-breaking, just hook a brother up and we'll see if we like it. Contact anyone from the band about that.

with fairy dust,
marty
08-28-02: Upcoming Shows marty
Hey everyone. For those of you who are wondering- Libbi is the new lead singer now. We are soon going to be trying out aning additional guitarist to make our sound more complete. As far as upcom shows go- we will be playing battle of the bands at the Ibew (five minutes from the mall). I'll post directions as soon as I get them but as far as I know it's somewhere north of maple and past Lowes and all those sweet places. Other bands that I hear are playing are: This Winters Dream, MOG, Up and Atom, Coldfire, Fakeside, and a crap load of others.

Thanks,
Marty
08-24-02: Thanks and Updates!marty
Wow. I just got back from the cancer benefit and things went by pretty well until the end. We got a really huge response to our new singer and the drummer who filled in for us and may be drumming for us permanantly. We played a crazy set and had some pits going and it was all fun for us and we hope it was fun for you guys too. We are trying to set-up a show with us and a few other local bands sometime in the next month (september) at club 2000. we'll update you on that when we find out all the goodies. also, a ="300" bgcolorfew new lyrics will be posted very soon along with pictures from the last show ALONG with libbi's member page. so hold in there!

thanks again to everyone who came out to the legion and to all the bands who played. i'm not sure how much we raised for the family we were doing it for, but i'm sure there was a fine amount of money there so thanks! i'll post the offical money count when i hear!

08-24-02: Good News marty
For those of you who haven't heard, there's a cancer benefit this friday (the 23rd) at the American Legion in Duncan Falls. The show begins at 1:00 and the kiddolphins (you heard it right) will be opening right on the dial. So be there! It's $5 at the door (great deal for 12 bands) and it's for a very worthy cause. I have no clue what time the show will end but I'm guessing somewhere around 11-12 (at night). We will be playing some of our "classics" and a few new songs.

Our new singer will be playing out with us for the upcoming show so prepare for a shocker. Other than that- come on out and support the local bands and the worthy cause and stuff your face with subway. Pop will be on sale for fifty cents a can and all proceeds of that will go to a local family who's daughter is suffering from cancer. COME OUT. Thanks!

08-06-02: We go through drummers like we go through food... Derek
Yep, we lost yet another drummer. Travis as of 8-06 is no longer part of the Leftovers due to some conflicts with the family and our music. We have a few other drummers we know lined up for a try-out, but if there are any other drummers out there who aren't in a band then contact us somehow if you'd like to tryout. We are also looking for a lead guitarist who can solo and add to cory's guitar parts.

The cancer benefit has been moved again to August 24th. Hopefully we'll be able to play around five songs with our new line-up. But I can't even garuntee right now that we'll have a drummer so I can't really make any promises about the leftovers performing now. That's all...

08-03-02: Updates Derek
It's time I updated since some things have changed. So here we go, poopstains.

#1- The cancer benefit that was scheduled for the 10th has been moved up to the 17th. I have no more details for that like the order, or where we're even playing yet. But as soon as I find out I'll post it on here somewhere. All the profit from this show will be given to a local family. More details on that on Up and Atom's website since I really don't know much about it except the girl with cancer is in pretty rough condition.

#2- We probably won't be recording on August 15th now due to some new members that may be added to the band. We have no idea if we will or not, and if we don't we have no idea when we WILL.

Other than that it's just the usual. Me and cory have been writing some new songs while travis is away and they sound pretty much nothing like we've done before. The Card Song will be added to the lyrics section in a few days once I revise them. That's all.

07-26-02: Updates Derek
Hey everyone. Just updating here at 12:30 in the morning. Here we go...

#1- The concert on the 10th is going to be a cancer benefit for someone who's father is getting laid of in work so they could use some money. Brandon from Up and Atom has more information on that but it was brought up to me that it could be considered that we change the show we were going to have on the 10th to a cancer benefit. Right now I have no clue where it will be at but it could possibly be at the American Legion again. We're going to try to get secrest, but who knows if that will work out? Anyway, I'll keep you posted on that.

#2- The Leftovers t-shirts should be available by the next show if I'm not lazy enough. They will be $10 for all sizes and can be pre-ordered. Just contact me in some form. We will be selling these at the next few upcoming shows we play so if you want one, go!

#3- We will be experimenting around with our sound up till we start recording. This means that there could be one to two new people joining the band. Be prepared for a HUGE change if someone joins. I'm sure everything will sound better, though.

#4- Finally, we are scheduled to begin recording the first HALF of our CD on August 15th with Dustin Rouan and Dustin Steed. For the list of songs we will definately be recording check out the post below me.

smell ya later, derek
07-21-02: Thanks! Derek
Thanks for everyone coming out to the show and seeing us play. We really appreciate it even though Cory's pedal is now jacked up and needs repair. It was the best and craziest show we have ever played thanks to the smashing of the guitar at the end, the crazy mosh pits that were going on, and the surprise of having a guest singer singing some nirvana... it all made the night very crazy and fun. Our next show will probably be August 10th or the following weekend with a ton of bands. Stay tuned for more info. on that. Our scheduled date to begin recording is less than a month away, August 15th and we will be recording the first half of the CD. Although it hasn't been officially decided yet, here's what we will probably be recording...

1.)Secret Smoke
2.)Memories
3.)Coldhearted
4.)In a Minute
5.)Card Song

Remember, it's not for sure... but most of those songs will probably be on there. And thats the first HALF. Not the whole thing... Oh well, thanks everyone for coming down to the show and supporting us and the rest of the local bands. I hope everyone had a great time.

later,
derek
07-11-02: waiting here... Derek
Everyone in the band is eagerly awaiting Cory's arrival back from some camp so we can start cracking on practice before the show. We'll be playing somewhere around a 45 minute set at the American Legion probably somewhere around 10:00 or later. But go to the full show! Starts at 3 and ends whenever Up and Atom stops playing. For everybody who went to our last show on the 13th of April, you'll see/hear that we've changed a lot. There will be a selection of hard/metal songs and then a selection of softer songs so be prepared! No more news from here... For more info. on that show go to the shows page or contact me somehow.

smell ya later,
derek

07-01-02: the drewsky rap Derek
Some quick news here. First of all, vote on our new poll! Click on the link on the top right-hand site and vote. You may have to click the 'x' of the annoying geocities ad but hey this thing is free so... deal with it.

Second, the show on the 19th of July has been CONFIRMED. Go to the 'shows' page for directions. Bands that will be playing are: The Leftovers (of course), Up and Atom, PEN15, The Dresslers, EBL, Colfire, and possibly more. It will be held at the American Legion Hall and will begin at around 3:00 in the bright, sunny afternoon. There might be some soda for sale but i'm not sure.

Third, the projected date that we're supposed to start recording is around the 15th of August. Not too far away! We're all excited and we hope you are too. By the time we get all the lyrics copyrighted and acquire the necessary rights to distribute it, the CD will be available for purchase at our shows, through the band members, and on various web sites on the internet.

That's all turds!
