History

Here's the almighty history of what became known as the Leftovers. Enjoy as we begin to pull out a washer tied to a string and bore the living hershey bars out of you!

The Leftovers first formed in February of 2002, then known as Loser Fantastic. We really didn't have a band name then and just decided to use the name "Loser Fantastic" on the spot when we were asked our name. Loser Fantastic then consisted of the following: Drewsky Douglass (Vocals), Derek Picklesimer (Bass, vocals), Cory Hoskinson (lead guitar), and Ryan Huffman (drums.) We played what I guess you'd call a performance at our high school the same month we formed. Before that performance we really weren't a band and more like a project. But after seeing the response we got at the performance, the whole group decided it would be awesome if we'd take it a step further and form a band out of it.

Soon, all the band members agreed that a new band name would be nice. Derek opened his mouth and said a band name that he had wanted to use for a long time. Since then, we've been known as the Leftovers. We began having regular practice in Cory's basement and worked on our first three songs: Lead Pipe, Brittany, and Memories. Ryan Huffman was kicked out due to his musical differences and lack of dedication so the Leftovers temporarily became a three-peice. The search began for a new drummer...

That search ended when a younger Adam Brown was brought to a practice in Derek's basement. All the Leftovers agreed he was an awesome drummer so Adam was added to the band. The next few weeks were turmoil for the band as Adam showed signs of wanting to continue his own band, which today is known as Left Leg Limp. *Interesting Note*- The night before Adam quit the band Derek had a dream about him quitting...

Again, the Leftovers were left in the cold without a drummer. They became a three-peice for a long time, often practicing in Derek's basement with just a guitar, bass, and a few microphones. Then, one night in April we got offered what was really our big break. Derek was talking to Brandon of Up and Atom and they wanted to know if we'd play a show with them and EBL on the 13th of April... two days in the future. Derek said he'd check with everyone to see if they'd play. They all agreed that they'd play if Derek Hubbard of Up and Atom would play drums for them at the show. The Leftovers went on the ground-shaking set two nights later and played five songs. Everything went by great considering the fact that it was the first time ever Derek Hubbard had heard us and the first time he played with us.

This got the band back into full swing, still searching for a full-time drummer. Connections got Derek in touch with Travis Tysinger, a 15 year old drummer that lived in Philo. Travis drummed for a few months, then quit due to complications with his parents and the band. A month later, the Leftovers picked up a new singer (Libbi) and dropped Drewsky (again). The Leftovers have played along side other local acts such as Up and Atom, PEN15, This Winters Dream, Lemming, EBL, Coldfire, The Dresslers, the kiddolphins, and more.
