Sports & Physical Education

The school provides an extensive sports and physical education programme. At present we offer aerobics, kho kho, volleyball, cricket, skating. School will like to emphasis physical training and sports on long term basis. Karate has been made compulsory for all students and they will be made to appear for championships.Sports

 

Physical Training:

Martial Arts and Yoga.

 

Minor Games:

Badminton and Volleyball.

 

Major Games:

Hockey, Cricket, Football and Athletics.

 

Tournaments

An annual sports festival will be organized, in conjunction with other schools to ensure that seasons for respective sports coincide. This programme will incorporate a calendar of dates for inter house and inter school competitions as also friendly matches against local teams to promote sportsmanship at district, state and the national level.

 

Co-Curricular Activities

  • This is a very broad area of activity and forms the third leg of our educational philosophy in addition to academics and sports. One of the essentials of a good all round education is the provision for plenty of opportunities for students to develop self confidence, leadership, humility, care and concern fro others. The school achieves this end through.

  • A programme of hobbies and Spare Time Activities (STA) leading to the development of practical skills in handicrafts and industrial crafts. Each student spends at least two hours a week on any one hobby, which he/she may change after a year.

  • A programme designed to awaken cultural awareness and the development of the aesthetic senses, through art, music, debates, etc. Participation in various inter school, inter district, inter state competitions, such as debates, elocution, quiz, dramatics etc encouraged.

  • A programme of community service, inculcating sensitivity to the plight of the less fortunate, ecological awareness and the dignity of labour. Students will be encouraged to undertake social service activities in conjunction with their syllabi, such as rural interaction, working with the handicapped (mentally retarded, blind, deaf, dumb), working with poor, making compost pits, campus gardening, tree planting and the like.

  • Visits to educationally important areas viz. research laboratories, institutes, industrial units, historical monuments, farms, stock exchanges, printing presses, etc.

  • Talks, seminars and workshops to widen general awareness and perspective by a wide range of eminent people nationally recognized in their respective fields are organized and promoted on large scale.
