Definately a composer worth listening to. His writing is very conservative, and influenced by the baroque/ classical periods. Both the Concerto and the Sonata have been recorded and both are recommended as additions to a CD collection

Shostakovich admired Tishchenko's music very much, and with good reason. It is at once tuneful and dissonant and savage. It has echoes of Shostakovich, but often becomes far more dissonant than he ever did. At the sme time, there are some beautifully lyrical moments in a far more conservative idiom

Alexander TCHEREPNIN:

A fair amount of his music has been recorded, including most of the music for cello listed here. He writes in a very conservative idiom making his music lyrical and very approachable. Many clips of his Piano concerot's and Symphonies can be heard on the Tower Records website

Nicolai Tcherepnin (1873-1945) also writes beautiful Romantic music
