Well, I finally did it. I got rid of the AOL and got DSL. I love it. No more crappy dial up connections, no interruptions, and all the porn in half the time. Lovely.

So, I watched "Extreme Makeovers" tonight. I really wasn't going to do it. I am vehemently anti-reality T.V. (even Ozzy is getting on my nerves). But I had some time to kill before "South Park" came on, and I got hooked. Three chosen makeover-ees were picked from thousands of hopefuls, and were given any kind of surgical and surface-level plastic surgery they wanted. Two women and one man got nose jobs, boob jobs, tummy-tucks, facial implants, teeth whitening, lasik surgery, and more. Not to mention, hair and makeup by Jose Eber, and a new wardrobe.
I have to admit, they looked damn good when it was over, and it started me thinking. In a few short years, no one is going to have to settle for less than perfect looks. Between the increasing availability of plastic surgery, and the inevitable "gene manipulation" that will one day design the babies of our dreams, we are in for a very "Gattaca"-like future, albeit a much, much cheesier one.
