Chapter 8 It was late the next day when Jason, Carly and Lucky arrived in Port Charles. Lucky had spotted a phone book and found Roberts address. It took them a bit longer to find the house. I hope we are getting closer, Jason said driving down the street that Roberts house was on looking at house numbers. Im running out of gas. There, Lucky said pointing to the house just off to the right. Good, Jason said driving into the driveway. Why we here? Moms going to be mad that we arent home, Carly said in a lost child like voice. Mom, will understand, Lucky said patting Carly on the shoulder as he jumped out into the cold night air. It was the middle of winter and Lucky was dressed in shorts. He was near freezing by the time he got to the door. He jumped up and down as he rang the doorbell. God, I forgot what it felt like in winter. Jason sat in the car freezing himself. Lucky, they arent coming. Get in Ill go get gas and well find a place to crash for the night. Lucky didnt move. HE stood there listening as someone walked to the door. He heard cursing and muttering as the door opened. This better be important, Robert snapped as he opened the door. What is it! he yelled and looked down into Luckys face. Hi, Uncle Robert, Lucky said smiling. Lucky? Robert said stunned. Spencer, get your ass in here. You send your kid thinking Im not going to kill you! Yelled as he looked towards the car. Thats not mom and dad. Dads dead and I dont where mom is. Thats Jason and Carly my brother and sister, Lucky said through chattering teeth. What? Robert said and then looked at Lucky. The kid was blue. Come on it and bring them. You can tell me more as I warm you up, Robert said stepping aside and letting Lucky into the house. Lucky waved at Jason and Carly to come in. **************************** Little while later, Anna and Robert sat around their kitchen table listening to Luckys story. Luke dead? Robert said not buying it. Damion said that but that didnt make it right. Thats what I was told, Lucky said sadly. Well, kid unless see your old mans body then dont believe it, Robert said to Lucky. Ill get find your parents and get a hold of the police down in Florida. Well, they tell mom where we are? Carly asked. She hadnt really heard anything Lucky said. Her mind was a bit off in anther world right now. Anna smiled at Carly and said, You know, I bet youre tried. How about I take you to Robins room. You rest there. Carly looked at Jason and he said, Ill be up in a minute. You sure? Carly asked in a lost little voice. Im sure, Jason said kissing her on the cheek. Anna took Carly up to Robins room. Jason looked over at Robert and said, She took our friends death hard. I dont think she is ready to think about her mothers death. Robert nodded his head and looked down at Lucky. The kid was almost asleep himself. I think the three of you need to rest. Ill take you to the guestroom. We can talk more later. Ok, Jason said and like a good big brother. He picked Lucky up and carried him towards the stars. Robert smiled at this and thought, at least he had someone to look after him. *********************** Lucky woke up to find Robin staring at him. Your not Carly, Robin smiling at Lucky. Lucky sat up and said, No, Carly cant sleep without Jason. He took her into the other room and I slept in here. I hope you dont mind. I dont but I dont know how my mother is going to react them sleeping in the same bed, Robin smiling. Lucky got out of bed shrugging. Virginia didnt mind. She did tell Jason if he Carly pregnant then he better stand by her, Lucky said smiling. Robin laughed and said, This is very understand woman. She was, Lucky said sadly as he put on his shocks and shoes. Robin smiled and said, I heard about her death. Im sorry. Its ok. It is Damions fault and he is going to pay, Lucky said coldly. He was going to pay one day. When Lucky was older he was going to make sure Damion paid for everything he did to the people he loved. Robin noted the cold tone in Luckys voice but the young ignored it and said, You hungry? Sure, Lucky said jumping up and they headed downstairs together. In the kitchen Robin warmed up some soup and made sandwiches while Lucky watched her. Where are your parents? Lucky asked. Mom, went to talk to your Aunt Ruby and Aunt Bobbie. Dad is in his office still working. Id leave him be. He gets grumpy when he hasnt had any sleep, Robin said smiling. Im not that bad, Robert said coming into the kitchen right then. Your alive, Robin said jokingly. Yeah, and so is Luke, Robert said looking at Lucky. Dad alive? Lucky said looking up at Robert with a shocked look on his face. Yes, he is alive and working for the FBI, Robert said coldly. He hated in justice and he hated people that used their power against others. What the FBI was doing to Luke, Laura and Roy was wrong and Robert was going to fix it. He was going to make sure that these Agents regret ever thinking of pulling a stunt like this. He was going to make their lives a living hell. Ah, oh, Robin said seeing the rage in her fathers eyes. Yeah, tell you mother that Ill be back. Im going to get the Spencers, Robert said and started for the garage. Can I come? Lucky asked hopefully. Sorry, kid but I think you better stay here. I have men out front keeping an eye on the house. Damion and his men hasnt been scene in Florida and he might try coming after you again. I dont want to risk it, Robert said taking his keys off the hook before leaving the house. Lucky looked sad and dejected. He wanted to see his parents badly. He never realized how much until this very moment. It kind of hurt that he wasnt going with Robert to get them. Robin sat down next to Lucky and said, Dont worry. They will be home soon. I promise. She didnt what it was like not having her parents around but she knew would miss them and would want them back. So, she understood the sadness in Luckys heart at this moment. Ok, Lucky said and he picked up his sandwich and started to eat. Chapter 9 Frank's Request |
