Chapter 3 Laura and Luke sat on Franks private plane looking at the pictures and information that had been supplied for them. Laura lifted the picture of Roy and asked, How can he be alive? Luke looked at the picture and said, I dont care. If it comes down between our son and Roy then Roy looses. Laura looked at Luke shocked that he could say this. You are going to kill him! I have no choice Angel. I dont want to kill Roy. Specially, after it wasnt for Roy I wouldnt have the life I have to day but I have no choice. Frank took our son and we dont know where he is. We have to do what he says, Luke said sadly. He hated the idea killing the man that was once his closest friend but Lucky was too important to him. He had no choice. Laura started to cry and laid her head on Lukes shoulder. She wasnt just crying for her missing son but them and Roy as well. She too knew there was no choice that didnt mean she had out right except it. ***************************** Seven-year-old Lucky Spencer sat up in bed with a start. He looked around the strange room trying to figure out where he was. He was normally used to walking up in new places but this was different. The last memory that Lucky had was of some of Frank Smiths men bursting in the room. He remembered his father going for his gun but he never got a shot off. One man shot his father and a strange stick stuck in his arm. Lukes last words were, Run, Cowboy! Lucky had tried to run but a man grabbed him just as he hit the back door. The man smiled down at him and said, Youre not going anywhere Junior! Lucky tried to fight but nothing worked. He was shoved in the back seat of a car where one of Franks men injected him with something that ended up putting him to sleep. This is how he ended up in this strange place. Lucky climbed out of bed and walked towards the door. He slowly tried the knob and was shocked to find that it wasnt locked. Lucky shoved the door opened and walked down the hall and into a small living room. Lucky was shocked at what he found. The places looked nice and homey. The only strange thing Lucky saw was the fact that the furniture was covered with plastic. Whats going on? Lucky asked himself. Oh, you are wake, Virginia Benson said smiling brightly at the boy as she walked in from the kitchen. Who are you and where are my parents? Lucky asked turning around a bit stunned at the sudden appearance of the woman. She was older then his mother but she didnt seem like the type of person that worked for a man like Frank. In fact, Lucky would have taken her for a homebody. I dont know where your parents are and I dont really know what is going on. I do know that youre stuck with me for awhile, Virginia said smiling sadly at the boy. You hungry? Lucky didnt budge at the mention of food. What do you mean Im stuck with you? Virginia smiled sadly at the boy and handed him the recording that Damion had handed her earlier. I was told to give you this. It might answer a lot of your questions, Virginia said holding out the recorder to Lucky. Lucky took it and he walked to the couch and sat down. He hit play and listened to the recording. Lucky, its mommy. Lucky hearing his mothers voice come over the speaker. Tears came to Luckys eyes suddenly. He knew that his mother was scared. He could hear it in her voice. Lucky cried even more as the tape played on. The next voice belonged to Damion and he made the threat very clear to Lucky. Young man, what happens to your parents is up to you. If you miss behave and cause Miss. Benson any trouble. I assure you, you will never see your mother or father alive again. All you have to do is stay with Ms. Benson and in a few days you will see your parents again. What happens to them is all up to you! Lauras voice came back and she said, Baby, we love you and sit tight. We will come for you. I love you too, Lucky cried as the tape ran out. Virginia walked to the boy and put her arm around him. Its ok, she said rocking the young boy in her arms. She felt sorry for the kid. He should be with is parents. He shouldnt be forced in this kind of position. She cures Frank and his family and wished one day they would finally get what they deserved. Lucky wanted to move away but right now it was nice having someone hold him. All he could think about at that moment was never seeing his parents again. ********************* Caroline, her friend Carly, and Carolines boyfriend Jason Morgan walked into the Benson house to find Lucky sitting at the table being fed her mothers cookies. Mom, who is this? Caroline asked looking down at the young boy. Lucky smiled up at the blond but didnt say to much. Mainly because he had a mouth full of chocolate chips cookies at the moment. Virginia looked disapprovingly at her daughter and said, Caroline, manners. That isnt a way to talk to a guest. Sorry, Caroline snapped coldly. Who is he? she asked again. This is Lucky Spencer. His father was an old friend of mine, they ran into a little trouble and asked if I could keep their son for a few days, Virginia said. Great, Caroline said and she headed towards the living room. Carly smiled at Lucky before she went into the other room to join her friend. Jason gave the kid a wink and walked in behind them. Virginia smiled at Lucky and said, You have to excuse my daughter. She is a teenager. Thats cool, Lucky said and he looked at Virginia and asked, You dont what her to know the truth do you? No, I dont. It would be better if she believes what I just told her and I hope you keep it that way, Virginia said to Lucky. Why not. I dont have much choice in the matter. I cause trouble Frank will hurt my family, Lucky said sadly. Its ok. Im sure you will see your parents soon, Virginia said patting Lucky on the shoulder. Lucky sighed and finished up his snack before heading into the living room to sit and watch TV. Chapter 4 Frank's Request |
