Chapter 31

It was three oclock in the afternoon time for Victors hearing. Victor sat next to Alexis waiting for the judge to arrive. Scott was reading papers smiling this dumb ass smile of his. Victor ignored the guy. He had dealt with enough men like Scott to know he was just trying to get his goat.

Cant we get this moving? Victor asked Alexis.

It will start soon. You just keep your temper in check, Alexis warned her uncle.

You heard her, Mikkos said walking up behind the pair.

How is Laura holding up? Alexis asked turning around and smiling at her father as he took a seat in the chairs behind them.

As well as anyone that just a sibling, Mikkos said sadly.

Victor shook his head and was about to comment when the doors opened and Carly and Jason showed up. What is she doing here? Victor said stunned.

I have no idea, Mikkos said as he turned around to see his niece walking towards them.

Carly and Jason approached the group. Carly smiled at her father and leaned in gave him a kiss. How you doing? she asked.

Id be better if you back in that hospital bed, Victor said coldly.

Yell at me later. Im hear to tell the judge what happened with Dorman, Carly said in a tone of voice that told Victor no matter load he yelled. He would never change her mind on what she wanted to do.

Victor shook his head and Mikkos smiled. Alexis looked at her notes and came up with a new game plan. If you are ready then you will be the first and only one that talks, Alexis said and she looked at her uncle. You dont get to say a word.

A little while later, the judge was seated and everyone sat and waited for the hearing begin. This is a hearing to see if we have enough evidence to go in front of a grand jury. Mr. Baldwin, you opening statement.

Scott smiled and stood up, Your honor, Mr. Cassadine has a very violent past, Scott started to say.

Your honor, I object. My uncles past does have any barring in this case.

Your honor, Mr. Cassadines past is the reason I am going for Man 1, Scott said coldly.

Then you dont have a case, Alexis said and she pulled out a paper and walked to the judge. This is signed by the United States District Attorney and it carries the Supreme Court seal on it. It says that any past wrong doings by my Uncle or my father are considered off limits.

Scott growled at this. Alexis didnt tell him this before he brought all of this on. The judge read the paper and looked at Scott. She is right. Im sorry Baldwin but you are not allowed to bring up any missing doings my Mr. Cassadine before this the night of Dr. Dormans attack.

Yes, your honor, Scott said and he started to reword his opening statement. It didnt take him long because most of what he had to say based on Victors past.

Alexis stood up when Scott was done and looked at the judge. I am not going to make opening statement. I just have one person that can tell you what happened in that basement better then anyone that was there. So, Im asking your honor if I call Carly Morgan to the stand.

The judge thought about this and said, It will solve a lot of problems. You may call her to the stand, the judge said smiling at Alexis. Scott hated what was happening. He had a bad feeling that this was about to blow up in his face just like he was told it would.

Carly stood up gave Jason a kiss then walked to the stand. She was sworn in and Alexis stood there resting her hand on her stomach and said, Mrs. Morgan, I want you to tell us what happened that day at Dr. Dormans house.

Carly knew that because of a deal she made with the FBI for her statement that Scott couldnt do anything about her going there to kill Dorman. So she wasnt to worried about what she was going to say on the stand. I found out that Dr. Dorman was the man that attacked me. I was angry and decided to get even. I went to kill him. He was pleased to see me because he said he didnt go look for me. I tried to shot him but he took the gun from my hand. He grabbed me and pulled me down the stairs. He was gloating as he walked. He sounded happy that he gets a chance to kill to people in one day. He told me how Amy died and how she fought like real trouper. I slapped him. All this managed to do was make him smile and he kissed me. He said this was going to fun. Carly stopped. She had to fight the over whelming sickness that over came her.

The judge looked at her and said, Take your time.

Carly nodded and took the water that Alexis was handing her. She took a few drinks then went on. He tied me to the pool table. He told me that many girls died there. He said he did them slowly just as he was going to do me. As he talked his hand ran up and my body. It was like a form of for play to him. He even put his hand up dress and under my under pants.  Jasons hands were balled into fits. He hard this before but this didnt make it any easier hearing it now. Victor didnt hear about this and it took Mikkos resting his hand on Victors shoulder to keep him in his seat. Carly was going with her story. Dorman tried to kiss me and I bit his lip. It set him off and he picked up the knife and stabbed me.

Alexis walked towards Carly and put her hand over hers and asked, Is then when you father showed up?

Yes, he grabbed Dorman and they fought over the knife and my father won, Carly said calmly.

Alexis nodded then asked, Carly, in your opinion do you beleive if it wasn't for you father showing up Dorman would have killed you?

Yes, he would killed me just killed the others, Carly said coldly.

My son isnt a murder, an older woman yelled in the back.

Order, the judge snapped banging down his gavel.

He didnt kill anyone, the woman yelled again.

Bailiff, the Judge said. The Bailiff nodded his head and went to remove the woman from the courtroom.

Alexis looked at the judge and said, Your honor, I have no more questions. I do what to say that you have seen the tapes and pictures of what the FBI found in Dormans house. You know what he did to those women. He was a monster and he would have killed Carly if her father hadnt have stopped him. Carly is Victors only child. He was just doing what any father would do in that matter.

Mr. Baldwin, You have anything to ask or add to this? the judge asked.

Scott knew when to quiet. He shook his head and said, No, I have no more.

Good because this is has gone far enough. Mr. Baldwin, I would expect more from you. You are not a first year law student. I would hope that you would do better the next time you bring case in front of me. Chargers are dropped this case is closed, the judge said and he bagged his gavel and stood up and left.

Carly smiled as ran to her father. I did it, she said smiling.

Im proud of you, Victor said giving her a hug and kissing her on the cheek.

So am I, Jason said smiling.

Carly smiled and looked at the men. I know you would want me to go home but I need to do one more thing.

What is that? Victor asked.

Say good bye to Amy. I didnt know her to well but I know how she died. I need to see her to put this event behind me, Carly said calmly.

Ok, Victor said and he put his arm around his daughter and walked with her. He did have one eye on Scott as they walked. He would deal with him later in his own time. Victor wasnt going to let Scott off for trying hurt the family. Scott was now his prime objective and he was going to break him but first they had to put Amy to rest.

***********************************

The next day, was harder then the day before. The only bright side was Victor was free. Victor stood by Alex who had wanted to be at her husband side during his hearing but at the last minute had been called to hospital. This day thought she was at his side and stood outside the funeral home watching as Lucky, Nikolas, Zander, Jason, Josh and Mac carried out Amys coffin. Laura was crying in Lukes arms. She could hold back her grief any longer. She just let it go. All the others were crying as well as the coffin walked past them.

Alan stood between Monica and Emily holding them as the boys walked by. He couldnt believe he was there to pay respects to Amy. He couldnt think of the hospital without her. He also had trouble believing that he wasnt going to her voice or see her gab about someone in the hall as she worked.

Bobbie was thinking the same thing. She was remembering all the hours they worked together. How they would keep each other wake on long shifts. She remembered how Amy helped her pack up the brownstone after she sold it after she married Stefan.

Luke was thinking he was thinking about Amy. He was thinking how bad he treated her the last time they saw each other. He wanted to take that moment back. She did drive him crazy but he did love her. He did care about her. He did want her back.

Lucky cried as he walked. Nikolas reached his free hand over to his brother and grabbed his hand. Lucky looked at Nikolas and realized he was crying as well. Lucky was grateful because it meant that he wasnt weak.

The six men slowly lowered the coffin shoved it in the back of the Hurst. It was Lucky that closed the door. He looked at the coffin for brief moment and said, I love you. He then closed the door and it drove away. Laura decided to cremate her sister. She couldnt put her in the cold hard ground. She would find the right place to throw the ashes but until then Amy would be near her and the others long side Foster.
