| Chapter Forty Four Lucky decided to make it up to Lizzie for all trouble his life as caused her. He talked Johnny into driving him to Jason's. He had something to ask him and was hoping he would say yes. Lucky walked into the penthouse and found baby Michael and Carly in the living room, "Hi, Cousin." "Hi, Carly is Jason around? I have something to ask him," Lucky asked her. "What's up, kid?" Jason said as he walked out of the kitchen. "Jason, would you let me use your penthouse for one night? I want to have a romantic dinner with Lizzie and I don't want the guards around. I was thinking this place would fit the bill," Lucky said trying to hide how red his face was getting. "Sure." Jason said, "You need anything?" "No. I can handle everything else. Just make sure everyone is gone. I don't mind the guards at the door but not in the penthouse," Lucky told him. Jason agreed and Lucky set the date for that Friday night. Jason and everyone were going to leave for the night and Lizzie was going to have a night without bodyguards to worry about. Friday came and Lucky walked into the penthouse with an arm full of groceries and Johnny carried his suit for the night. Lucky placed the food on the counter and started to prepare the meal. He was about to open a jar of tomato sauce when Sonny said, "You are not going to open that thing in this kitchen." "Why not?" Lucky asked him. "Because I said so. Get out of my way kid. I'm going to show you how to cook. Jason told me you were doing the cooking and from the looks of things your father taught you," Sonny said as he started to take over the cooking. Sonny helped Lucky make the rest of the meal. Lucky was amazed that the crime boss of Port Charles knew how to cook. Sonny left when everything was ready. Lucky went upstairs to shower and change while Johnny went to get Lizzie. When she arrived, Lucky had everything ready for her. He was shaking and hoped things went as planned. Lizzie meant a lot to him and he didn't want to mess things up. ~~~~~~~~ Across town, Lucky wasn't the only one who was in the mood for romance. Luke had asked Bobbie to watch Lulu for him and Laura. Luke had made reservations at the best restaurant in town and he was treating Laura to a night out. Laura walked down the stairs and Luke fell in love with her all over again. "Angel, you look wonderful. I hope you're hungry because tonight the sky's the limit and it is just the two of us," Luke said and they headed out the door. ~~~~~~~~~ Alexis and Ned watched Stefan go over some papers. Ned said, "Stefan don't take this wrong but get out!" Stefan looked up at them and realized he was becoming a fifth wheel. He decided to take Nikolas up on his offer in showing him the club and the changes he had talked Luke into making. Stefan got cleaned up and drove into town for the first time in weeks. He felt better and the medication was working on rebuilding his energy level. Stefan walked into Luke's and discovered it was packed. Nik was standing by the door over looking the entire place. "I don't see Luke anywhere," Stefan said to him. "Mom and Dad went out tonight and I have the job of over seeing things, but we can go into the office and talk for awhile if this is to much for you," Nik aid. "No. I'll be at the bar, watching you work. I was in the way at the house and I'm just exploring tonight," Stefan told him. Nik had ordered the bartender to give Stefan anything he wanted and the two of them talked about things that didn't really matter. Stefan was just grateful that Nikolas was talking to him at all. He had a lot to make up for and the only way to do it was by showing Nikolas that he meant what he said. ~~~~~~~ Lucky pushed the chair up to the table as Lizzie sat down. "You did all of this?" she asked him. "I had a little help. Sonny showed me how to make the sauce from scratch," Lucky told her. "He cooks?" she asked. "Yes and he is better at it than dad is. I think my father might have to take lessons from Sonny," Lucky told her and laughed. They ate and talked. Lizzie was pleased that Lucky thought of this and hoped he didn't go to too much trouble on her account. After eating, Lucky asked Lizzie to dance and they slowly moved around the room. Lizzie was relaxing and for the first time felt really comfortable being this close to him. They danced and talked until twelve. Lucky and Johnny took Lizzie home and Lucky walked her up to the door. Lucky realized he wanted to kiss her. So, he took a deep breath and slowly started to kiss her. Lizzie relaxed and kissed him back. When they parted she said, "Lucky Spencer, I love you." Lizzie raced in the house and left a stunned Lucky on the patio. Johnny had to help him to the car and said, "You didn't expect that did you?" "She said she loves me," Lucky stammered out. "Your gone. Your hopeless. Kid, welcome to the world of romance," Johnny said and started the car. Chapter 45 Back to What's the Truth? |
