Chapter Twenty Nine

Ned and the boys took Lulu to the park leaving Luke to deal with two very angry
women. "I don't care what you think, Laura. Lucky is my son too and I will see
him, whether you like it or not. You want to be stubborn about it? I might take
you to court and see what a judge has to say. You and Luke don't have a very
good track record. I might even get custody of him. I didn't give up my parental
rights. I had you and Luke sign a document stating you would let me see him
anytime I wanted, after it was safe. I still have it and I'm going to use it. He
is the heir to the Cassadine family and you can't do a damn thing about it,"
Alexis yelled as Luke walked into the house.

"Try it, Alexis. He is my son and I raised him. You have no rights to him at
all. You take Luke and me to court and I'll tell them everything about your
precious family and then we will see what a judge says then," Laura yelled.

"Ladies, stop this. Lucky isn't an object he is a person" Luke shut up suddenly
they both were glaring at him with evil eyes. He backed up and sat down without
another word. "I think this is about to get worse," Luke thought to himself as
Laura and Alexis went at again.

They yelled at each other for about an hour and neither of them could really
hear what the other was saying. Luke just sat back and watched. He was glad
Lucky wasn't around or this could be a lot worse. Alexis stormed out and headed
home. Luke looked at Laura and said, "She is right. We could lose Lucky to her
if we don't come to a compromise."

"Luke, I'm not letting that women near my son and that is final. She can take us
to court. I don't care," Laura said and she stormed up the stairs.

Luke sat down and looked at the mantel. "I'm getting paid back for every time I
call Nik the lizard prince. Aren't I?" Luke muttered to himself.

Rick and Leslie walked in right then and asked what was wrong. Luke looked up
and said, "Laura is dead set against Alexis getting to know Lucky and I can't
change her mind. Alexis is most probably now calling a lawyer and setting up
some kind of costly legal action now. Where did I lose control?"

"I got to talk to her. Maybe I can get her to calm down," Leslie said and went
up to see her daughter.

"Rick, I need to know if the Vinings and Leslie were like this when Laura came
to live with you?" Luke asked.

"Yes. I think that is the entire problem. Laura hasn't talked to the Vinings
since she was a teenager and she is afraid the same will happen with Lucky,"
Rick said.

"Great. She keeps at it and it just might. He is just getting over our past
together and she is pushing him away," Luke said.

"Don't worry Luke. Lucky and Laura's family lives were quite different and she
will realize that in time. I have some good news for you. I got the test back
yesterday and Lucky's blood count has doubled. He should be back to normal in
about a month," Rick told him.

"Great news. Lucky hates taking the pills and going in for that blood work every
week. He will be glad to hear it and then he will be angry about all that was
said today," Luke said looking toward the stairs.
