Chapter Twenty Eight

Lucky was standing off in the corner watching the scene before him. Edward and
Ned were arguing so loud, he didn't think that either of them heard the other
one. Alexis was going at it with Monica. "Lucky, why don't we get out of here?"
Emily said.

"You got it," Lucky told her and the two teens headed out of the house.

"Do they always do that?" Lucky asked her.

"All the time," she told him.

"Em, move in with Jason. You would get a lot more rest and wouldn't go crazy in
the process," he said.

"I have been thinking about it," she laughed. "How is Lizzie?"

"Liz is great. Her parents came back this week and she has been helping them get
settled in their new house. Sara is going to go to college here and work at the
hospital part time," he told her.

"I heard something about that. Isn't Rick Webber back as well?" she asked him.

"Yes. He is going to be my doctor. He thinks my blood was thinned too much by
the poison and that is why my hands are so cold all the time," he said.

"Lucky, I didn't get to tell you in the hospital but I'm glad you are better. I
would hate to lose my friend. I know we haven't been close lately but I didn't
want to see you die," she told him.

"Em, thanks and we will always be friends. We just haven't had time to spend
with each other. I heard from Jason that you have a new boyfriend. One of his
men's younger brothers. I hope he is good to you," Lucky said with a laugh.

"He is and Jason already threaten him about getting me hurt. I don't know who is
worse: Alan, Ned, Grandfather, AJ, or Jason about my welfare," Emily said.

"My bets on Jason. He could make your boy friend disappear without a trace if
you got hurt," Lucky said, with a laugh.

"Yes, I think your right. Hey, has Rick and your grandmother talked to each
other yet?" she asked.

"They have been going out almost every night. I haven't never seen her this
happy. He is even taking her to her sessions with Gail. The only drawback about
Rick being around so much is that he doesn't let me forget to take my medicine,"
Lucky said.

"I bet. I have a hunch that Ned and Alexis aren't the only ones who might get
married. I heard Rick's ex wife dumped him just a year after they left Port
Charles. I bet he asks her to marry him and it will not be to long from now,"
Emily said.

"I think so too and I hope it happens. I think grandmother and Rick belong
together," Lucky said.

The two teens sat outside and talked until Alexis came out and said it was time
to leave. She didn't look happy. So, Lucky quickly said good night and they
headed to the car. Alexis didn't say one word until they got back to the house.
She went inside and went directly to her room. Nikolas was standing in the
kitchen hallway with a sandwich and looked at Lucky questionably, "Let me guess,
the dinner was a disaster."

"Yes. The Quartermaine's didn't let up once. They yelled and gripped all night.
I think Ned has finally had it with his family," Lucky told his brother.

The two of them were talking in the living room when Ned's car pulled up in
front of the house and he got out. He was carrying an over night bag. Ned walked
into the house and asked, "Hello. Alexis offered me a place to hide out for
awhile. I'm taking her up on the offer and I think I'm going to look for a new
job. My family can have each other," Ned said dropping down in a chair.

"You didn't leave Emily with that bunch?" Lucky asked him.

"No. She is at Jason's and most probably will be for a very long time," Ned told
him.

"Good and Ned, if you don't mind me asking what was the argument about? I don't
remember what everyone was yelling about," Lucky asked him.

"The argument was about Alexis and I getting married. Grandfather is totally
against it and even threaten to write me out of his will. He thinks the
Cassadine family are a bunch of blood suckers who are worthless and no good,"
Ned told him.

"Great. I'm now worthless and no good to him. I think that is an improvement
from being a hood in training," Lucky said.

"You took that better then Alexis. She thinks grandfather is the male version of
Helena and should be put out to pasture. I think he makes a very dangerous enemy
and I don't blame her," Ned said.

"Alexis has control of the family business and is running Katherine Bells
company for me. You could offer her your help?" Nikolas said.

"I think I'll do that but not tonight. I'm going up and try to make this evening
disappear," Ned said and grabbed his bag and headed up the stairs.

"Nik, lets go and stay at my house tonight," Lucky said getting up from the
couch.

Nikolas looked up the stairs and smiled then followed Lucky out of the house and
to the Spencers. Late the next morning Lucky, Nikolas, Ned, and Alexis were
having breakfast when Luke and Laura pulled into their driveway. Laura was
carrying Lulu and she didn't look happy. Lucky looked out the window and said,
"Shit. I forgot they were getting back today. I'm dead."

Alexis and Ned looked at him with questioning looks and Lucky quickly told them
what Laura had said. Alexis said, "She said that and you didn't tell me? Lucky,
do me a favor and don't keep things like that from me. I have every right to get
a chance to know my son and Laura Spencer isn't going to stop me." Alexis got up
and stormed out of the house.

Lucky laid his head on the table shaking it back and forth. "I think my life is
about to get worse," Lucky said.

Nikolas and Ned looked at him with pity in their eyes. Alexis was riled up from
last night and was looking for a good fight. They thought she was about to get
one. The three of them got up and headed over to the Spencers. They could hear
the yelling from half way across the yard. Luke had Lulu out on the porch and
was waiting for them.

"Ned, do me a favor and take my daughter to the park or something. Lucky, you
and Nikolas better go with them," Luke said handing Lulu over to them. "I'm
going to try and defuse this mess."

"Dad be careful. Alexis had a very bad night and is looking for a fight," Lucky
told him.

"Thanks for the warning, Cowboy," Luke said and headed back into the house.
