| Chapter Twenty Four Robert left the secret room and dropped on to Jasons couch. Jason had left to give Robin and Robert time alone together. She was waiting for her father to start in on her. She could tell he didnt like Jason and she was ready for the fight that was about to start. Robert looked long and hard at his daughter and said. Why Morgan? It just happened and I know the danger but I cant change my heart. I have tried that and it didnt work. So, Im going to learn to live with it. Robin said to her father. He is a mobster. You will be a target to anyone who goes after him. Robert said sitting up straighter. Dad, we need to talk about the years you were away. I have been through a lot over the past few years and learned about life. I met a boy named Stone. He used to live on the streets until Sonny took him in and gave him a job. I didnt like him at first but slowly we fell in love. He was my first real relationship with someone. He died a few years ago. He contracted AIDS and now I am HIV positive. Robert couldnt speak his mind went numb. The facts slowly began sink in and he realized how much she has changed since he was gone. Im on prodical and the virus is being controlled. I dont judge life by tomorrow. I live for today. I dont know what is going to happen and either do you. I love Jason and he loves me just as I am. Robin started to cry. She didnt know what else to say. Robert pulled her close and let her cry it out. When her tears were just sobs, he turned her head up and looked Robin in the eyes. Love, you are the braves person I know. As long as you are happy that is all that counts to me. I love you no matter what and you will always be my little girl. Im going stand by you with anything you decided to do with your life, but if Jason gets you hurt. Im going to kill him. Robert said with a roguish grin. Robin couldnt help but grin at her fathers remark and they hugged for a long moment. I love you. You took this better then Uncle Mac. she explained. Uncle Mac hadnt been locked up by some demented cretin for over the past five years and I trust your judgment and I cant tell you who to love. Robert looked up when the secret room computer started to buzz. The message he had been waiting on was coming through. Robert got up and went to check. While Robert was gone, Sonny and Jason walked in both were worried about how things went with Robert. They looked at Robin and Sonny asked. Everything all right? He took it better then I ever dreamed off. she said getting up to greet them. We need to talk. Robert said as he exited the secret room. Jason and Robert walked into the kitchen for some privacy. Robert looked Jason right in the eye and asked. Do you love her? Yes. I would die for her. Jason replied. Good. You are going to make me a promise. Try everything in your power to keep your business from getting her hurt. She is the only thing that really matters to me and you wouldnt want me for an enemy. Robert said getting right into Jasons face. I promise. She has guards twenty-four hours a day and they have orders to do anything to keep her safe. Im not taking risks with Robins life. She is my heart and soul. Jason said not even stepping back at all. Robert smiled at him and headed back into the living room. Robin. Im going back to the hospital. The WSB just sent me the list of drugs that Victor forced Lucky to take. His doctor needs this information right away. Robert headed toward the door when she stopped him. You are resting. Sonny or Jason can take the list to Luke. All you are going to do is go to sleep, she said and guided Robert up the stairs to the guestroom. He didnt fight her. Robert just handed to paper to Sonny and let his daughter take him up stairs. She was staying at Jasons for the week and she talked Robert into staying. She wanted to keep a close eye on him and this was the only way she knew how. Chapter 25 Back to What's the truth? |
