| Chapter Twenty Two Luke ran through the house looking for the chessboard Victor was talking about. He finally found it and grabbed the black queen. When he was sure it was there Luke rushed out of the house and looked at the clock. He had a half an hour to get across town and to Lucky before it was too late. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Helena and Stavros were walking toward a waiting car when two dark figures appeared from the shadows of the building on the out skirts of Port Charles. Sonny and Jason looked at the two Cassadines and smiled. Hi, Stavros. I hope you liked your little game because this is going to be your last, Sonny said, holding a gun in his hand. How did you find us? Stavros asked him. Simple, because nothing happens in this town without my know it. Sonny said with a cold tone of voice. What now? Going to take us back and stand trail? Stavros asked him. I'm not like Luke or the police. I don't let my enemies live. So goodbye, Cassadine, Sonny said, then he and Jason fired. Helena and Stavros dropped to the ground, dead. The two men walked away. Sonny spoke to his bodyguards. Clean this place up and get rid of the bodies. I don't want them showing up for a very long time. Sonny and Jason headed back to the hospital to check up on Lucky. They both were hopping to find him alive. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Luke rushed into Luckys room and found his family standing around the bed. The only thing that said Lucky was still alive was the monitor beside the bed. Luke pried Luckys mouth open and purred the liquid down into his mouth. The only thing Luke could do now was pray that Victor didnt lie and he hadnt helped kill his own son. Everyone stood around the waiting room waiting for word about Luckys condition. It had been hours since Luke gave him the antidote and there wasnt much change. Luke walked over to Nikolas and said, I know you won't believe this, but I would have never killed you. Laura means too much to me for that. I know we probably can't have a father and son relationship, but how about trying to be friends? I don't know. You have said a lot of rotten things to me over the years, but you saved my life a few times. I'll try, but you have to meet me half way. I don't like being ordered around any more then Lucky does. I'm almost an adult, can you try and treat me like one? Nikolas asked him. Yes. It is going to be hard to think of you as anything but a Cassadine but I will do anything for my family. Alexis said you can stay with her but you are welcome in my home any time, Luke said, holding out his hand. Nikolas and him shook hands. They might never be father and son but there was a chance for them to be friends. It was only going to take time. Luke realized that lies and hatred had torn them apart. The only thing that could repair the Spencers was love and trust. Laura watched this scene with a happy heart but she couldnt show it. She was too worried about her other son to show much joy. Luke walked over to Laura and sat down beside her. Angel, Im scared. Lucky is in there fighting for his life and Im helpless to help him. Luke said pulling her close. You helped him. He would be gone by now if you hadnt got Victor to tell you about the antidote. Im proud of you. You are the best thing that ever happen to me, she said moving still closer to him.
