| Chapter Fifteen Laura sat on the edge of her bed and asked Nikolas to tell her everything about the events of the past weeks and not to leave anything out. She was also going to try to get him to open up to her. Nikolas talked about everything but his feelings about the events. He was more worried about Lucky than himself at that point. Laura looked at him and said, Nikolas, Stefan is dead and you havent reacted to that. Why? Hes not. He cant be. You werent who they say you were. So, he isnt. That was someone else on the stand. Not my uncle or father, whatever you want to call him. He raised me and I love him. I know him better than anyone. He isnt the man they say he was. The others have him locked up somewhere. I dont know where, but Im not giving up. I was mad at first but later I realized that this was some kind of plot. I dont know what that plot is and I dont care. Lucky is being forced into a life he never could understand. I know what is expected of the Cassadine and I dont like it, but that is the way I was raised. He doesn't know and he will fight Uncle Victor all the way. He is going to get hurt if Luke doesnt show up soon, Nikolas said, kneeling down beside her. I hope youre right, for your sake. And Lucky is going to fight Victor all the way. We just have to pray that Luke gets here soon or my son might go too far, she said, pulling him close. Lance watched the scene with detachment. He didnt know what to think of this latest development. Lucky was shoved into the Victors office. Sit down, he ordered. I have a few things to go over and you are going to listen. Lucky sat and rubbed his sore arm but didnt say anything. He just sat and glared at Victor. You arent bright. You dont know when to shut up. Youre just like your father. Well kid, Im going over this one more time and if I have to repeat myself, you are not going to like what happens. Im the boss. You do what I say and how I say it. You are not going to smart off to me or anyone else or the taste of soap is going to become very familiar to you. I dont like nicknames or pet names. Your birth name is Lucas and that is what your are going to be called. You wont answer to anything else. You will treat adults with respect and say please and thank you. Your life is mine and Im the only one you ask for permission to do anything. Understand me? Yes, Uncle Victor, Lucky said, trying to remove the smart undertone. Much better. Im going to get your tutor. We have a lot a ground to make up and there's no time like the present. I dont want you to move a muscle, Victor said, pointing his finger at Luckys chest. Lucky waited until he was gone and got up to try the phone. He had to warn his father. Victor knew he was coming. Lucky was dialing the phone when Victor walked back in. I thought I said not to move? he said, walking over to Lucky and grabbing the phone. Who were you calling? My father, Lucky said, glaring back at him. Victor just grabbed him and forced him into the chair, then he tied Lucky to it. That will keep you in one place, Victor said. The teacher walked in and acted as if nothing was wrong. Victor looked over at her and greeted her. Your student is a little hyper but he will calm down. You might have to do a lot of oral work for awhile. His arm is still out of commission. Call me if he gets out of line and Ill put him back on the right track, Victor looked warningly at Lucky and left. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Luke, Sonny, and Jason walked along the beach of the Cassadines' compound and not to far behind them were five of Sonnys best men. They didnt expect what was about to happen. Luke turned the corner and a big beefy hand reached out and choked off the warning to the others. As the world got dark, he heard several shots fired. Luke was knocked out and taken by Victors men to the main house. Sonny and the others were captured and taken to holding cells by the airstrip. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Lucky was listening to his lessons, when he heard some shots fired. He tried to get up but he forgot about being tied down. Whats that? he asked. None of our business. Lets go back to the lessons, The teacher replied and went on talking. Lucky was frustrated but was helpless to act. The only thing he could do was sit and wait. Laura and Nikolas got up to ask what was happening. They were surprised to find two men leading Alexis to a room down the hall. Stavros arrived and said, It is none of our business, Lasha. Go back and visit your sons. Stavros stood and watched them from the doorway. Laura was tired of him and walked up and demanded, What is happening? Luke has arrived. He just got a surprise but dont worry he isnt dead, yet. Stavros said and left the room. Laura looked at the door and screamed. You havent changed. You are still worthless. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Luke was thrown into the room with Alexis. She ran to him and slowly brought him around. He sat up and noticed a large shape leave the room. What was that? he asked applying to the goon that dropped him on the floor. I dont know, but I would hate to meet it in a dark alley or a well lit one for that matter. Let me help you up, she said and pulled him to his feet. Luke was trying to figure a way out of the room when Victor, Helena, and Stavros arrived. He looked at the trio with contempt. What are you three up, too and where is my son? Luke demanded, walking up to Victor. And I have score to settle with you. Dont ever touch my son again. Luke said and punched Victor right in the mouth. Luke. Do that again and I will blow your head off and leave Lucky and the rest of the people you love for us to do with as we please, Stavros said, holding the gun right in Lukes face. Luke backed away and waited for them to make the next move. Helena smiled and motioned for them to take a seat. We have a lot to talk about. It has been along time for some truths to be told between us, she said. You dont know what the truth is, Luke said with sarcasm. You dont, Stavros said. Did you know that youre not married to Laura, but I am. Stavros relished Lukes reaction. The look was priceless and he loved every minute of it. I hurt you worse then they think. I have been married to Laura for over fifteen years, Luke said, trying to calm down. No. You only think you were married, but with Stavros alive, your wedding wasnt legal because the license was signed wrong, Victor said, handing him the copy of his wedding licenses. Luke read the paper and couldnt believe his eyes. This had to be a fake. Looking up at them, Luke demanded, Stop beating around the bush. What do you want? Simple, I have what I want. The only thing that matters now is if you live or die. That is going to your choice, Victor said, waiting for Luke to respond. When he didnt, Victor continued. I have Lucas and he is the thing that I wanted. You and Natasha can be part of his life, with a few conditions. Luke, you will marry Natasha and change your name to Cassadine. You are out of your mind. Im married to Laura and nothing will change that. Lucky is my son and you're going to have kill me to keep him, Luke said, getting up from the chair. Helena smiled and pointed the gun at him. That's the idea. If you dont do what we want, then you and your friends will die, even your precious Laura. It will not take much to convince a judge that Lucas and Leslie Lu are better off with us. Nikolas is all ready considered a Cassadine and with you out of the way, Lucas will become the Cassadine I always wanted. Luke dropped back into the chair. He wasnt afraid of death but leaving his kids in their hands wasnt worth it. What else do you want? he asked, feeling defeated. When the marriage is legal, Natasha will adopt Lucas and his name will become Cassadine, as well. You all will do what we want and when we want it. An old friend of yours life depends on it, Victor said, handing him a picture. Luke was in shock. The picture was of Robert Scorpio. He was sitting in a cell looking much older than the last time he saw him but alive and well. Where is he? Luke asked. Here for now. You can see him later. I want your answer, Victor said. You got it, but Laura can divorce this blood sucker if she wants and Nikolas, Lulu, and Lance stay with her. Im not bringing them into this. I would get Lucky out but I dont think your going to allow that, right? Luke said, looking at Victor with contempt. You're right. Laura can have the divorce but I want a public wedding with the whole town of Port Charles in attendance, Victor said, getting up and facing Luke. You got it, Luke said, standing up and joining him. The war of the wills was about to begin and Lucky was the prize. Chapter 16 Back to What's the Truth |
