| Chapter Thirteen That day, Victor and the boys were heading to one of the Cassadines' many compounds. It was Nikolas who woke up first. He looked around and wasnt surprised to see Victor sitting in the chair looking at him. Im glad your wake, Victor said to him. Uncle, what do you want? Nikolas asked him. Nothing from you and that means your expendable. So behave yourself. I only need Lucas, Victor said, turning his attention to Lucky, who was just beginning to stir. What happened? Lucky asked, in a sleepy voice. I hope my men werent too rough on you. I would hate for the heir to be hurt, Victor said, leaning over him. Lucky tried to jump up but the seat restraints kept him in place. What do you want? Lucky asked Victor. Im just worried about you. We dont want anything bad to happen to you. Youre the heir to the Cassadine fortune and we need you. Does your arm hurt too much? Victor asked, feeling around on the cast. Lucky tried to push him away but his good arm was strapped down, as well. It is fine, he said, trying to hide the pain. Victor didnt believe him and grabbed a glass and some pills from the table. He reached out his hand to Lucky. Here, take these, he ordered. No way, man. Im not taking anything from you, Lucky said and then clamped his mouth shut. Victor smiled and said, You will if I force them down your throat. Then he grabbed Luckys head and squeezed his nose closed and the second Luckys mouth was open. Victor popped the pills in his mouth and forced him to swallow them. Lucky was choking when Victor helped him drink some water. You asshole, Lucky said, after getting his voice back. You want to be treated like a two year old, thats fine with me, but Im boss here and you will do as I say, Victor said, getting right into Luckys face. Lucky and Nik both watched Victor with fear in their eyes. They both didnt trust him at all. Victor left the boys alone and went up front. Lucky, are you all right? Nikolas asked, helping him out of the restraints. Fine, Nikky. I just hope those pills wont kill me, Lucky said sitting up. I dont think so. Im the only expendable one around. Youre the heir now and they need you. I have become nothing, Nikolas said sitting down beside his brother. Not to me. I need you, because I dont know how act. If you see me opening my big mouth, when it should be closed, tell me, Lucky said, placing his good arm around his brother. How come it takes everything we ever knew to blow up in our faces before we realized how dumb we have been acting toward one another? Nikolas said to Lucky. I guess because of blood lines. I know Spencers have to do things the hard way, Lucky said, trying to laugh. The pills started to take affect and he slowly fell asleep. Nikolas held him, as he looked out the window. He glanced over to the front opening and found Victor watching him. What do you want? Nikolas asked. Take good care of him, because he is the only person who can keep you alive. Your father is dead. Helena and Stavros killed him and Katherine Bell. They were planning to destroy the Spencers. Im going to do the same thing, but not in the way you think. Victor said, as he sat in the chair beside the sofa. Nikolas leaned back and watched his uncle for a long time. He could not help but worry what was coming next. The plane landed and Victors men took Nikolas and Lucky off the plane. Lucky was awake but Victor insisted that he be carried off. Lucky wasnt happy but he got more upset when he noticed that Nikolas was being taken in another direction. Hey, dumb and ugly! Lucky said to the big man who carried him. Where are they taking my brother? You have to ask Mr. Cassadine. I was only told to take you to your rooms, the guard said. Lucky looked at him and sneered. I hate to disappoint you but I can walk, Lucky told him. You arent well. The doctor is waiting to examine you, once you are settled in your room. The Cassadines dont trust the doctors you have seen. They are worried that you are hurt more then that has been indicated, the guard said, as he kept on walking. I dont believe this, Lucky said. Im being treated like a two year old. This is worse then my Aunt Bobbie and she was seriously getting on my nerves. Lucky was placed on the bed and the guard left the room. He sat up and looked around the room. You could put our entire living room in this bedroom and still have space left over, he thought, as he got up. He was looking around when Helena walked in with the doctor. You are not to be out of bed, she told him and tried to guide him back to the massive bed that dominated the room. Enough, Lucky yelled, pulling away from her. I want to know what you want with me and where you took Nikolas. Lucas, I know we havent been the best of friends but that will change. Your half brother has been take to his new room and you can see him shortly. The doctor is just going to examine you and see if anything else was damaged when that woman shoved you, Helena said, grabbing him by the arm again and sitting him down on the bed. My name is Lucky and I want to see Nikolas, he demanded. You will do as I say and he will be here later, but cause trouble and you wont be allowed to see him at all, Lucas, Helena told him. Lucky glared at her, but he didnt say anything until the doctor was done. He is all right, but make sure he takes those pills I gave you. They will help with the pain from the fracture, The doctor said and left the two of them alone. Lucas, Im going to get Nikolas for you now. See what happens when you do as I say? she said and quickly left the room. Lucky got up and started to pace. The old bat is deaf. They call me Lucas one more time and Im going to scream, he said to himself. Lucky was still pacing when Nikolas was shoved into the room. Nik, are you all right? Lucky asked him, as Nik landed at his feet. Yes, but this is hard on a person's pride, Nik said, getting to his feet. You? I'm fine. Your grandmother is weird. Shes like Victor. They both keep calling me Lucas. Im getting sick of it. Nik, I hate that name. Why do you think I go by Lucky? he said, sitting down on the edge of the bed. I though it was your real name. I never knew you were named after your father, Nik said, joining him. Yes, and he hates it too, Lucky said with a laugh. Both boys were talking when Victor walked into the room. Im glad youre getting along. I talked Helena into agreeing to keep you two close. The room next to this one is being set up for young Nikolas. Lucas is going to need help until the cast is off and you are elected. The phone beside the bed is set up for an outside call. You can call your father now, if you want. Victor left the room and let Lucky made his call. Victor couldnt wait for Luke to arrive. Then the fun would really begin. Lucky called his house, hoping his father would answer. Luke took the red eye home and just walked through the door, when the phone rang. He grabbed it and said. Yes? Dad. Its me, Lucky said into the phone. Lukes heart almost stopped. He didnt expect to hear Luckys voice so soon. Cowboy, are you all right? He asked. Yes and so is Nikolas. We are with Helena and Victor. We havent seen Stavros yet, but he is around somewhere, I think, Lucky told him. Where are you? Luke asked him I dont know. On one of the Cassadines strong holds, I think. Let me ask Nik if he has an idea, Lucky told him and turned to Nikolas. Do you know were we are? No, but the weather isnt right for Greece. I know that much, Nikolas told him. He doesn't know, but it isnt Greece. Can you trace the call? Lucky asked him. Were working on it and Lucky be careful. Dont push them too much, or you could get hurt, Luke warned him. I dont know about that, dad. They keep saying Im the heir and keep calling me Lucas, Lucky told his father. Oh, boy. Kid, dont get upset. I hate the name too but the Cassadines aren't to be pushed. Wait for me and Ill do it, Luke told his son. Dad, Victor forced me to take some pills. I tried not to but he shoved them down my throat, Lucky explained to his father. He did? Im going to shove more then pills down his throat, when I get a hold of him, Luke threatened. Lucky, dont take any more. I dont trust them and neither should you. Chapter 14 Back to What's the Truth? |
