| Chapter Twelve Luke sent Laura and Lance into hiding then went to find some answers. He left town and traveled back to Texas. He was digging for the truth on his and Laura�s past. While Luke was gone, the Cassadines were setting up their next move. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ �How long do you think you can keep Luke busy?� Asked Stavros. �As long as needed. He is going to discover the truth about Lance and the fake Laura, which gives us time to move on Lucas. By the time he figures everything out, Luke Spencer will be no more,� Victor said. �I think you�re enjoying this too much Uncle,� Stavros said. �I am. I went prison because of Spencer and I learned killing someone is too quick for revenge. Luke will kill himself before I�m through with him,� Victor said. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alexis was sitting at the Spencer�s dinner table, going over some of Luke�s papers for the Club. She was looking after things while he was gone. �That man doesn't even know how to count,� Alexis muttered to herself. �That�s what Sonny always says,� Lucky said, coming into the room. �You father is a lousy bookkeeper,� Alexis said, looking up from the papers. �I know. Lucky for me, I take after you on that point,� Lucky told her sitting down at the table. �How is your arm?� she asked him. �Fine, but it's still sore. I can�t wait for it to heal, though. I hate having to be dressed and bathed. I feel like a two year old,� Lucky said, scratching under the cast. �Stop doing that. You�re only making matters worse,� Alexis said, pulling his hand away. �I can�t help it. I itch constantly,� Lucky complained. �How about going out for awhile and getting to know one another? I need a break from all the paper work,� she suggested, getting up and grabbing her purse. �That sounds great. This house is beginning to close in on me. Have you heard from Dad?� He asked, as they headed to the door. �No, but he�ll call. He said he would. The last I heard from him was that Lance might be his so-called 'dead' son. Luke apparently wasn�t the only one switching babies around that day. He is headed to Canada. Lasha and Stefan were spotted landing in Quebec. Luke went to check things out himself and after that, he is coming home,� Alexis told Lucky. The driver/body guard Sonny insisted they have took the two of them to the local mall. Lucky normal hated shopping, but he discovered that Alexis was kind of cool. She even helped him play a video game or two. Lucky smiled as they broke one of the top scores. Alexis suggested the Outback for Lunch. The two of them walked inside and Lucky noticed Lizzie sitting at the table with Emily and went over to say hi. Alexis got paged and went to make a call. The bodyguard sat in the back ground and got a little distracted. He didn�t see Victor Cassadine walk inside. Victor watched Lucky talk to the girls at the table. �How is the arm?� Emily asked. �Sore, but it will be all right. I can�t wait to get this cast off.� Lucky said. �I missed you. You have been spending a lot of time with Alexis and Nikolas lately� Lizzie said. �I�m sorry Liz. I�m not avoiding you, but Dad doesn't want me out of the sight of Sonny�s bodyguards and I wanted a chance to get to know Alexis. I never realized how much we have in common. I like talking to her and I�m glad I am getting to know her. Laura will always be my mother, but I hope Alexis can be my friend,� Lucky said, kissing Lizzie on the check. �I�m glad to see you out,� Victor said, walking up to the table. �What do you want?� Lucky asked, him getting to his feet. �To talk and say I�m sorry about the arm. Stavros would have never called his wife and told her about being back if he knew what Stefan was up to. I hope you�re not in too much pain,� Victor said, placing an arm on Lucky�s good shoulder. Sonny walked in right then. He looked at the guard and said. �Get out. I will deal with you later.� Sonny then walked up to Lucky�s table. �Get away for him, Cassadine. Or you might get hurt.� Victor stepped away and said, �Mr. Corinthos, I would not hurt the heir. I�m worried about him as much as you are and maybe more. Take care of yourself, Lucas. We will meet again.� Lucky tried to shake the weird feeling he got around that man. Sonny looked at Lucky and asked, �What did he say?� �He wanted to know about my arm and he knows about the two Laura�s.� Lucky said. �I think he is up to something and I�m it,� Lucky said. �Don�t worry, kid. You�re getting a new bodyguard and that man isn�t coming anywhere near you. I promised your father to keep you safe,� Sonny said pulling up a seat. �Where is Alexis?� �She went to make a call,� Lucky said, and as if on cue Alexis walked up to the table. �Sonny, glad to see you. I needed to talk to you about Luke�s books. I got everything straighten out but there are few things that aren't right,� she said, taking a seat. �I�m not surprised. My partner can�t add, but they will have to wait. Lucky just had a visitor, Victor Cassadine.� �What? Lucky are you all right? What did he say?� she said in one breath. �Calm down, Alexis everything all right. I ran off the old bat, but from now on, Lucky isn�t to be out of your sight. The Cassadines are up to something and Lucky is a big part of it.� Sonny warned her. �Hey, I can take care of myself,� Lucky said in his defense. �Normally, yes, but with one arm you are helpless and an easy target. I�m saying this for your own good. Luke will kill me if anything happens to you,� Sonny said, slapping him on the back. �Thanks, Sonny. You make me feel so much better.� Lucky said with a sneer on his face. Victor ordered his driver to head to the airport. �Time to move. I will have the boy by tonight. Stavros take care of your brother,� he ordered. Sonny was going to take Lucky and Alexis back to the house when Mac arrived. �I�m sorry but we need the two of you down town for awhile,� Mac said. Sonny turned to his bodyguard and ordered. �Johnny take Lucky home and stay with him until I arrive.� Johnny nodded and followed Lucky to the car. Mac drove Sonny and Alexis to the police station. Mac said that a call came in about Stefan and Laura�s where abouts and that he needed some more information on Laura. Johnny pulled the car up in the driveway and helped Lucky out when a shot was fired. Johnny dropped to the ground dead, then two men jumped out and grabbed Lucky. He tried to scream but a cloth covered his mouth and nose. He slowly relaxed into his kidnappers' arms. Nikolas arrived right then and tried to help, but he ended up being taken as well. Both boys were moved to the waiting airplane. �We�re sorry, Mr. Cassadine, but this other boy showed up. We grabbed him, as well. Do you want us to just get rid of him?� one of the men asked. �No. He might come in handy. Take both boys on board and get the plane ready. I want to take off as soon as possible,� Victor ordered. The men did as they were told. They gently placed Lucky on the couch but dropped Nikolas on the floor next to him. They only had orders to be extra careful with Lucky not Nikolas. Victor watched both boys sleep and smiled at himself. �This is going to fun. I�m going to enjoy watching Luke Spencer suffer,� he thought to himself. While Lucky and Nikolas were being grabbed by the Cassadines, Luke was just minutes late to save the fake Laura and Stefan. Lasha was standing out on the deck looking at the sunset. She called out to Stefan. �Are you coming out. You�re missing it.� A voice spoke up from doorway. �Sorry, Kat. He isn�t going to hear you. Don�t think he will be joining him soon.� Helena said and swiftly slit her throat. Stavros joined his mother on the deck. �No wonder Spencer got on the island so easy. Stefan�s men are fools, just like him. Luke should be arriving soon and we better not be around,� Stavros told her taking her arm. They were long gone when Luke arrived with the cops from the local station. When Luke saw the dead body of the fake Laura on the ground his heart stopped. �I hope it wasn�t my angel,� he thought. He didn�t have a chance to call home until the next day and by then everyone had heard about Lucky and Nikolas being kidnapping. Alexis was in a panic and Bobbie wanted to string up every Cassadine that was ever born or at least the three main ones. When Luke�s call came in it was Sonny who answered. �Mac any word yet?� he asked, without saying hello. �What happened, Sonny?� came Luke�s worried voice. �Lucky and Nikolas have disappeared and Johnny is dead. I�m sorry, Luke the Cassadines got by me,� Sonny told him. Luke slammed his fist on the desk. �I should have seen this coming. They killed Stefan and Katherine Bell. She was the fake Laura. I was waiting for the lab work to come back before I called. When were they taken and have you told Laura?� he asked. �Yesterday about five and no, I was leaving that part up to you,� Sonny said.
