| Chapter Twenty-Five Lucky's out burst Lucky couldn't believe he had to spend all afternoon on Sunday playing the piano. He hated it. I did that enough on the island to last a life time, Lucky complained to Lake. I'm glad you're going and not me, Lake told him as he watched Lucky mess with his tie. You are going. If I have to waste my time playing grandson to that old geyser, you're going to spend it with me, Lucky told him. I'm not doing any such thing, Lake said, jumping to his feet. Lucky walked over to Lake and slapped him. You will do what I say. You're a nobody around here. Lucky told him with cold blue eyes. Lake was holding his hand to his cheek where Lucky slapped him. He couldn't speak. Luke saw the whole thing and said, Lake, go find your father and if you want to join me for dinner, you can, but Lucky's not going anywhere. Lake walked out of the room and went to find Robert. Luke looked at Lucky in complete disbelief. Cowboy, you don't like being hit and neither does anyone else and if you would have asked Lake to go to dinner, he might have said yes. You don't have to worry about playing the piano or anything for the week. You will not leave these rooms and I want you think about what you just did. Remember, Stavros treated you the way he was treated. Don't continue the pattern on others or the Cassadines have destroyed you forever. Lucky watched his father leave the room and close the door. He was more angry with himself then Luke. How could he have done that to Lake? He was his friend and he hit him. What am I turning into? He wondered. Lucky was sitting on the bed still thinking when Robert entered with a sandwich and soda. Are you hungry? Robert asked him. Yes and Robert, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hit Lake. I don't know what happened, Lucky said looking up at him. Lucky, it isn't me you should say you are sorry to, its Lake. I know you didn't mean it, but this should tell you that you are capable of violence toward others. You just have to learn how deal with those emotions. Your father and I have done a lot of destructive things to a lot of people, but we never hit a person for no reason. You are going to have to deal with what you've been through because if you don't, you will end up just like Stavros, Robert told him. How do I do that? Lucky asked him. I go for long walks when things start getting to me. Your father destroys his own property. You just have to find your own way. Maybe when we get you out of here, you can talk to Gail about the island and what happened. She might help you deal with the anger you carry deep inside of you, Robert told him. I will and when Lake gets back I'll apologize to him. Next time, I'll ask instead of tell him something. I guess I still have a lot to learn about the way normal people act. Lucky said. Lucky, you will never be normal. You're Luke's son and abnormal is a requirement, Robert told him, messing up his hair. Thanks a lot. You mean I'm hopeless. Lucky laughed at him. We all are. Robert told him. Luke and Lake came back later and found Robert reading some papers. Lake, I think Lucky has something to say to you. He is in his room. Robert told his son. I don't know, Dad. Lake said. Go. He is sorry and he would tell you himself. Robert said. Lake walked to Lucky's room and knocked on the door. Luke watched as he entered the room. What did my kid say? Luke asked Robert as soon as Lake was gone. He didn't mean it and he agree that he needs help. Stavros only taught him violence and we have to teach him compassion. Luke that isn't going to happen over night. He has to learn to let out those feelings or he will turn into Stavros. Robert said. I know. I just haven't figured out how do it yet. Luke said. Maybe, it is Lucky who has to find his own way. We are just going to have to help guide him in the right direction. Robert said. Rob. You're right, but the falls he will take until then bother me. Luke said. Robert nodded his head and went to get a drink. Luke? How did Michael react to Lucky not being there? He didn't like it but understood my concern. He has decided that since Lucky is being grounded that he will spend all day with him, in his office. I don't like the idea but I was overridden. The forth is coming up and Michael said if I complain too much, he won't allow the two hours to talk to our families. I relented. Luke told him. Michael is good at pushing your buttons, isn't he? Robert said. That old man is good at pushing people around and he loves to watch me squirm. Luke said, getting himself a drink.
