Chapter Twenty Three Life slowly goes on

Lucky painted for over an hour. When he stopped, Lucky slept for over twenty-
four hours. He woke with the slightest memory of the conversation with his
father on how he got hurt. Luke and Robert only told him part of the story. They
were watching him for any more signs of brain washing. Since, Lucky was better,
Luke couldnt keep Michael at bay any more. He started to spend time with both
Lake and Lucky, while he had their fathers jumping through hoops.

Luke was fighting his urge to kill the old man, but Robert kept reminding him of
the plan. They had time on their side and nothing but. Michael demanded that
both men learned the entire operation from the ground up. Luke was reading every
dirty deal and scam those two snakes ever did and Robert was going over all the
hidden operations they ran. Neither of them spent too much time with the boys.

Mac and Michael were at the lake and they were trying to get Lucky to join them
on the jet skis. He wasnt having any of it. No, man forget it! Im not going
out on the water. He said backing up.

The three of them just stared at him. Luke and Robert stopped by that day and
over heard him. Luke could have guest why Lucky didnt want to go in the water.
Let me guess. Cassadines wouldnt let you swim in their fancy pool? Luke asked
him as he got closer.

No. Not that. Lucky said backing up a little more.

What happened Lucky? Luke asked him

When I first got to the island Stefan talked me into learning to swim. I was
doing real good until Stavros showed up. He Lucky stopped and started back up
the bank.

Cowboy, you cant run from him forever. Luke said placing his hand on his
shoulder. What did that SOB do?

I was learning to hold my breath under water. Stavros grabbed me and held me
under. I think he really wanted to kill me. I never went near the water again.
Every time any of them tried to get me close to the water, Stavros would just
pop up. He acted like he couldnt wait to do it again. I never gave him the
chance. I take showers for that reason. Lucky said looking back at the lake.

You want to learn? Michael asked him.

Yes, but Lucky started to say.

No buts. Ill teach and well go at your pace. I promise Im not going to drown
you. Michael said holding out his hand.

Luke was about to protest but the look Michael gave him cut him off. This wasnt
the time to push any of his buttons. Lucky slowly joined the group. Luke thought
for a second that Michael wasnt all that bad, but the information he read over
the past weeks came back and changed his mind. This man is a killer, so dont
let him con you other wise. Luke cursed to himself.

Robert grabbed Lukes arm and they headed back up the hill. Robert couldnt
believe that Stavros could be so cruel. I wonder what kind of parents Helena
and Mikkos were to raise a son like that, he thought to himself.
