| Chapter 15: Stefan looked around the storage closet at Mercy hospital and wondered for the hundredth time why he was doing this. He never liked Luke and going to him for help was absolutely the dumbest idea that Bobbie came up with. Stefan's problem was that she wasn't going to stay dead without her brother's help. So, Stefan was stuck with going to Luke like it or not. Stefan was hoping that Bobbie would show up soon. He would hate to have someone walk in and finding him in the closet. Just as the thought came to Stefan. He heard the door open and he tried to find a place to hid but it was too late. Standing in front of him was a dark haired nurse with a wheel chair. Stefan almost jumped out of his skin because he was having trouble-picturing Bobbie with dark hair. "Get in," She commanded. Stefan obeyed but asked, "What is your plan to get to your brother?" "You are going to be a transfer from GH to Mercy. It was one of the last acts of Stefan Cassadine before he died," Bobbie said with an evil smile on her face. "Hold it," Stefan said as he realized what kind of patient he was supposed to be. "I am not playing a drunk and that is final." Stefan started to rise. "Then I'm not playing a stiff," Bobbie said and she headed for the door. She smiled as he called her back and got back into the chair. Bobbie quickly laid out the plan and they soon headed up to the floor Luke was being held on. Bobbie heard her brother half way down the hall from his room. "Listen to me Attila, I am not going to let you shave me and that is final," Luke yelled. Bobbie walked in and tried to hide the smile, as this large and impressive nurse stood with her hands on her hips glaring at him. Bobbie thought she would make a good wrestler on one of the shows that Lucas loved to watch all the time. Bobbie noticed that she was holding a razor in her hand and tapping her foot looking very frustrated at Luke. Luke was standing there with his hands across his chest like a defiant child that wasn't going to do what she wanted. "Mr. Spencer," the nurse said in a tight voice. "I don't have all day. Get in that chair NOW!" "Lady, you are deaf. I am not going to let you shave me and that is final," Luke said. Out of all the nurses on this floor this one had become a pain in the butt for Luke. He could have sworn that this woman would drive any man to drink, not keep him from it. It wasn't until that moment that they two of them realized they weren't alone. "Who are you?" the nurse said. Bobbie was taken back at first at the question but soon recovered. "I have a transfer from GH. I was ordered from the main office to bring this patient to this room." Bobbie said with the same nasal voice she first used on Stefan. "Let me see your orders," the nurse demanded and as soon as Bobbie handed them over, She ripped them from her hands. The nurse read the papers quickly and she then spoke. "Another trouble maker and a dead beat as well. Well, Mr. Atkins. You will not pull any of your stunts with me. I run this floor like an iron grip and I take no crap from anyone." the nurse said. Luke who was mocking the woman behind her back jump suddenly when she turned on him. "And you," she said pointing in his direction. "I have to get this paper work filed so this woman can leave but I will be back. Now think about this while I'm gone. You either sit down and let me shave you or I'll have you tied down. Either way, I am going to shave you when I get back," the nurse said and she walked off. Leaving the three of them alone. "Old bat," Luke muttered as she left and then turned his attention to Bobbie and Stefan. "Ok, why play dead and what are you doing with the count?" Luke asked them and he pointed at Stefan, who looked shocked that he realized it was them. Bobbie didn't reply at first. All she could do was run to her brother and hold him tight. Luke held her and soothed her tattered emotions with a calm voice that didn't fit his mood at the moment. "Ah, Bobbie?" Luke said after a few moments. "We don't have much time. Attila the Hun will be back at any moment. So start talking." Bobbie stepped back and told Luke everything from the moment she woke up, until they arrived in the room. As Bobbie told him about Helena and her causing Laura's death, Stefan noticed the cold look he got from Luke and he had to force himself from jumping out of his skin. It was a total and absolute look of hate on his face and it was all directed at him. "He is right about one thing," Luke said hating to admit it. "Helena is dangerous and you are better off dead. So, for now you two are stuck with each other but," Luke said walking over to Stefan so fast that the man didn't have a chance to respond. He picked up the man and pulled him right to his face. "You have one chance to stay alive. You keep her safe. If she gets hurt, I am going to hold you total responsible. If she has one little hair out of place. You will wish you were dead and if you end up dead. I'll take it out of Nikolas' hide." Luke threatened. Before Stefan could say a word, he was thrown back into the wheel chair. "Luke," Bobbie said but the look she got shut her up. Luke wasn't in the mood to listen to anything she had to say in Stefan or Nikolas defense right now. "Not now," Luke said and then grabbed a paper from the table and quickly wrote down a few things. "First go to my house and get some new clothes from the attic. You'll also find these items hidden in a box on the right hand side of the stairs in the attic. You will find all you need to make fake ID's and a kit to make yourselves up. I suggest that Stefan start biting his nails. That is what gave him away. No bum has a manicure," Luke said glaring over at the count, who just looked at his hands in puzzlement. "Then go the First National bank and get the money out of the safe deposit box. Your next step is to find a place to hid and stay low as much as possible." "We have a place," Bobbie said and told him where they were living. "Move. You can get killed in that neighborhood." Luke said shaking his head in disbelief. "Here is a place you can stay. Use the ID's to register and take Lucky's laptop with you or get one with the money. I need all the information you can find about that crash. It should give you something to do until I get out of this place," Luke ordered and then handed the list over to Bobbie. "Why should we?" Stefan asked hating Luke more and more as he sat there. "Because Count," Luke snapped at him getting right in his face. "I am stuck here for the next two months and secondly, I'm the only one that went against your mother and lived. You need me to bring her down. If you didn't, you wouldn't be playing dead but running your empire." Stefan hated to admit it but Luke was right. Luke was the only one that faced his mother and still was breathing. It also suited him to let him take her down and if he failed it would be no major lost to Stefan. Luke was just a bully to him with no real major threat to anyone but himself. Bobbie decided it was time to leave before the two of them started to fight. She said good bye to her brother and they took off. The nurse came back not long afterwards and Luke smiled as he told her some story about the nurse leaving and the patient walking out soon after that. She went off with such a rush that she forgot all about giving his shave, at least for the moment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kevin arrived not long afterwards. Luke had just finished shaving when he walked in. He had swiped the razor from the nurse�s cart outside while everyone was looking for the missing patient. "I don't want to know," Kevin said as he noticed Luke with the razor. "Good," Luke said and then asked, "How is the kid?" "Not good. He is the reason, I'm here." Kevin said and told Luke about the events in the courtroom and Lucky's reaction about the whole thing. Luke thought about this and what Helena wanted with his son. He looked at Kevin and asked, "Can you let me see him?" "That is what I am here for. I just wanted to talk about what you are going to say to him," Kevin said. "Right now, I don't know. I do know if he stays as he is, he could really get into trouble. Going after Helena is not a good thing to do. You threaten her and you'd better be ready to back it up," Luke told Kevin. "I gathered that much. So, I'm willing to try this but be careful you could push him too far," Kevin warned him. "I'll watch it. He is too important to me not to try something. Bring him Sunday night and I'll try then. If you want we can talk then about how to approach breaking down Lucky's walls," Luke told Kevin. "Ok and don't get the nurse mad at you. She is not a person I would want after me," Kevin said pointing to the razor. "I know that they think drunks like me will cut themselves but there is no way that woman is going to shave me and that is final," Luke said but he did hand the razor over to Kevin. He was going to hear it enough the way it is taking it. And he needed to do a little exploring tonight. So, that meant being good at least for the time being. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the park, Tony soon realized how much Lucky hated Nikolas. Nikolas, who never played ball his entire life, was with Lucas in the outfield, fielding balls. Tony was pitching to Lucky and every time he hit the ball, It almost took Nikolas' head off. After the third try, Tony figured it was time for them to switch places and for Nikolas to take a shot at batting. The switch went smoothly but as they neared each other, only Tony saw the hate in Lucky's eyes. Tony shook his head in frustration but at the moment he kept quiet. After giving Nikolas a few pointers on batting. He threw the ball across the plate and Nikolas took a swing. He hit it but it didn't go very far. Eventually, his batting got better and one of his hits went in the outfield where Lucky was standing. Nikolas wasn't good at aiming the ball. So, it went over Lucky's head and landed a few feet from the guards. The men had watched Lucky's little game with Nikolas and so, as the kid ran by them. One stuck his foot out suddenly tripping Lucky and sent him flying flat on his face. Tony waited only a few moments before going over to check if Lucky was ok. The kid hadn't got up or even attempted to. The group rushed over to help Lucky out. Nikolas neared the guards and said, "I saw you trip him on purpose and when I get back to the house, I will inform Grandmother and have you fired. You are around to keep me safe from kidnappers not to get involved with my personal problems with Lucky," Nikolas was angry and upset at the sight of his brother, lying sprawled on the grass. Tony had rolled Lucky over; who had the wind knocked out of him after he landed. What he saw startled him. Tony found that Lucky's face was now covered in blood. Lucky's face was still fragile from Luke's beating, and the skin was so tender that the crashing to the ground cut him open again. Lucky came around soon and tried to get up but Tony held him down as he checked him over. "Stay put and don't talk. You hit hard and I don't know how bad it is yet." Lucky laid still but his eyes were glaring at Nikolas, who he blamed for all of this and figured that he had ordered one of those goons to do it. Nikolas realized this but figured that Lucky wouldn't believe anything he said. So, Nikolas kept quiet and stood by Lucas. Tony clean up Lucky's face so he could figure out where he was bleeding from and how bad he was hurt. After a time, Tony thought it was best to take Lucky to GH just in case. He asked Nikolas to help him get Lucky in the car. Lucky would have protested but right then his mouth felt like it was on fire and he couldn't move it. After Nikolas got Lucky into the car and Tony pulled out. He turned on the guard again. "You just made things worse. I might have lost my only shot at really getting to know my mother and it is because of you. I will make sure you suffer for it," and with no other word, Nikolas walked to the limo and got in. The guard knew the boy was no major threat. He was hoping that Helena would approve of his actions or he was going to find himself dead. Helena didn't take failure very well and she wasn't a woman that let people that failed her live. Chapter 16 Back to Monster Within |
