Chapter 13:

Bobbie and Stefan walked under the docks for about a mile and a half. The water was starting to get high by this time and the couple was starting to panic just a little bit. Finally, Stefan spotted a place that they could get topside and they both quickly climbed upwards. The spot on the docks that they now stood on was in the worst part of town. Bobbie was sure no one that she knew and definitely know one that Stefan knew would be seen on this side of town but just to be on the safe side, Stefan and Bobbie quickly got out of sight. The place they found was an empty warehouse on the docks. As soon as they were sure no one was around and that it was safe for the time being, Bobbie looked at Stefan and said, Okay, you should be safe for now. Ill be back soon, and she start to leave.

Stefan, not knowing what she was up to quickly grabbed her by the arm and said, Where do you think you are going? We are suppose to be dead remember?

Stefan, Bobbie said talking to him in a tone of voice that she normally used on Lucas. I know what we are suppose to be and I know what we have to do to survive. I am going to get us some things so we can walk around town without being noticed. Im not going far and Ill be back as soon as I can, Bobbie said and she started off again.

She was gone before Stefan had a chance to stop her and he was forced to stand around and wait. He looked around at the place he ended up and wonder how he got there and what he could have done different. He still did not regret trying to break up Luke and Lauras marriage but the fact that she died because of his plan hurt a great deal. He would have done just about anything to make sure she was alive today but that wasnt going to happen. She was dead and he was going to have to live with it. Stefan even thought about Nikolas and the pain he was going through at this very moment. The only thing that helped was that Alexis would look after him until this mess was cleared up. Stefan didnt have an idea how he was going to manage it but some how and some where. Stefan was going to bring the end to his mothers tyranny.

Stefan stood and waited for what felt like hours. He was starting to really worry about Bobbie when a striking woman walked into the warehouse and looked around. It was clear to Stefan how she made her living and he was a little unsure what he was going to say to her. As she walked toward him, Stefan noticed how she was dressed. She wore skintight black pants that left nothing to the imagination and her top was almost nonexistent. It was dark blue and was cut very low and hung very high up. It was the womens hair and dark glasses that got his attention the most. The hair was a dark black and it looked like it needed a good washing and cut. The woman walked to him and said in a nasal voice, Hi, sweets. Whats cooking? the woman chewing on her gum as she held a bag of something close to her.

Stefan stood in shock and at first thought she was someone else but then things started to dawn on him and he got a really good look at her face. Bobbie? he said in a shocked voice.

It took you a while and that is good, She said and handed him the bag she was carrying. I brought you these and I have place for us until we figure out our next step.

Stefan was still in shock at the appearance of his wife dressed in such a manner. It took him a while to recover but slowly he did and looked in the bag. Stefan took one look at the cloths and said in a defiant voice. No, Im not doing it, he told her handing the bag back.

Bobbie refused to take it and even shoved it at him. Mr. Cassadine, you are the one that talked me into this. You said your mother would kill me if I showed myself. So, I agreed to go along with it. You know nothing about hiding and surviving by your wits. I at least know what it takes. So, do what I tell you and put on the clothes. We dont have all day. Bobbie stood there standing over him with her arms crossed and very determined look on her face.

Stefan looked from her to the sack and back again. He looked disgusted at the clothing but he did pull them out and got changed. When he was done, Bobbie checked him over and made a few changes. The well-tailored Russian Prince was gone and standing before her was someone that could have been taken for a hood that was well past his prime. She messed his hair up and placed dark sunglasses on his head. Now, you can walked around outside and not be noticed. At least on this side of town, Bobbie said and she grabbed his arm and the couple walked off.
After ditching their old clothes, Bobbie and Stefan walked a few blocks to the place Bobbie found for them to stay at. Stefan wondered where she got the money and what she had planed next but his questions were going to have to wait until they got up stairs and into their room.

The desk clerk didnt even look up as they walked into the hotel and headed up stairs. The room, Bobbie showed him was not what Stefan would call first class. He wouldnt even call it second class. The place was a mess and it looked like it hasnt been clean in one hundred years. The sink was black with filth and the floor was just as dirty. The bed was just a mattress and he could have sworn he saw a rat a few moments ago. Bobbie, you dont expect us to stay here? Stefan asked her in a shocked voice.

For now, She said dropping on the bed as if nothing was wrong. She too was upset about the place but from the look on Stefans face; she wasnt going to show it. It felt good to have the upper hand on him and she was over joyed to watch him squirm.

For now? How long are we going to stay here? And where did you get the clothes and the room? Stefan asked her as he looked for a clean place to sit and when he didnt find one, Stefan chose to remain standing.

Where I did I get the money? Bobbie asked with a sly smile on her face. Stefan looked in shock as she held up his wallet. He didnt give it to her and so, he figured she took if from him at some point.

How? he asked, taking back his wallet and putting it in his back pocket.

I picked it back at the docks, Bobbie said with a smile on her face and moved over to give him room to sit. She patted the bed softly at first and when he refused to sit down, she got more demanding. Sit! Stefan was suddenly very compliant. He sat down beside her and waited for her to go on. You need to remember this isnt anything like your life in Greece. We are dead to the world and if we want to keep on living, we have to be smarter than just about everyone we meet. The laws we go by are the ones we are willing to go by and the others are useless to us. If it comes down to my life and someone else, I will pick mine.

I didnt plan this and I will be the first to admit that Im lost. I dont even know where to start looking for a way to stop my mother. Im locked out of the family more than I was before and all my old contacts are useless to me. What do you suggest? Stefan asked her. He finally figured out that he was over his head in this one.

I told you back under the docks. Luke is the only one that can help. He knows how to live in hiding and he can help. Well sit here and wait until dark and then go to him for help, Bobbie said.

Stefan looked at her but said nothing. He hated to admit it but she was right. Luke would be the best person to help out in this matter but he was going to be the last person to admit it out loud. There was no way; Stefan would admit that to anyone. Least of all, Luke Spencer.
