| Chapter 5 Laura decided that it would be nice to have dinner with all her children under one roof. So a full week after she came back to Port Charles, she invited Nikolas over for dinner. He agreed to come on one condition and that was that Robin could come as well. He wanted someone around that was on his side. He was worried about how Luke was going to act but Nikolas didn't have to worry about Luke. He decided that sitting across from the crown prince and playing nice was just too much to ask. So, he decided to go the club early and work late. He understood Laura's need to be with her children and he didn't want to get in the way. The only person that couldn't skip Laura's dinner was Lucky. He spent the entire week trying to weasel out of it but it was no good. Lucky's next idea was that since Nikolas was bringing Robin then he could have Liz over. Laura accepted this and was delighted to have the chance to really get to know the young lady that had captured her younger son's heart. Lucky had other reasons. He figured with Liz around he could ignore Nikolas and not be so noticeable about it. The day of Laura's big dinner, she started to prepare earlier then usual and gave the house a good cleaning. Lucky had wanted to spend time with Liz that day but his mother never let him go long enough to go see her. He spent the entire day running errands for her or cleaning something. It wasn't until Liz came over for dinner that Lucky got a chance to even talk to her. "Hi," he said as he opened the door. "Am I early?" Liz asked as she walked into the room and noticed that no one was around. "No, you're right on time for me," Lucky said and he gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Lucky!" Liz said backing up. She still felt a little uneasy about them kissing and it didn't help matters that Lucky's mother was somewhere in the house. "Sorry," he said and he walked her into the living room and showed her a seat. "You want something to drink?" "A soda." Liz said trying to relax about being in the Spencer home for the first time sense the rape. Lucky realized this and he was trying to do everything he could to help her relax. "You don't have to do this. I could make something up and say you weren't feeling well," Lucky said reading her mind. "No, I'm fine. It is just a little weird that is all," Liz said. "Ok, but when you want to go, tell me and I'll walk you home," Lucky said and he went to get her the drink. Laura came down stairs right about then and smiled at the young girl. Liz got more uneasy about things but Laura's voice soon calmed her more then she expected and it helped that Laura treated her like warm and openly. "Hi, you must be Liz," Laura said as she walked down the stairs. "Yes, and I'm finally glad to get the chance to meet you. I feel like I know so well," Liz said as she got up to shake Laura's hand. "I can say the same about you. Lucky dose nothing but talk about you but I'm glad that he found some special to be in his life," Laura said and she took a seat beside the girl. "Thanks, I like him a lot, too," Liz said blushing a little bit. Lucky came back about then and handed Liz her drink. "You two meet?" he asked. "Yes, we did and you're lucky, she's a special person and I like her," Laura said with a smile. "Mom!" Lucky said getting a little embarrassed about his mother's comment. Lu saved the day when she came running into the room and leaped on her bother's lap. "Who's she?" the little girl asked looking at Liz with wide puzzling eyes. "Lu, this Liz. Liz this Lu," Lucky said as he introduced the girls. "I'm glad to meet you. I heard you spent a lot of time on a beach. Did you hunt for see shells?" Liz asked the girl. "Yeah, want to see them," Lu asked and without waiting for Liz's answer. She grabbed the teen by the hand and pulled her up the stairs. Lucky went along just to make sure that Lu wouldn't keep Liz up stairs forever. Laura had started to go into the kitchen to but the doorbell rang and she went to answer it. "Nikolas. Robin. Come on in," Laura said as she opened the door and stepped aside to give them room to enter. "Thanks for having us and dinner smells great," Robin said trying help things get normal as possible. Nikolas was still feeling a little unsure about this and she was trying to help things along. "Yes, thanks for having us," Nikolas said as he looked around the room a little unsure about this. "Nikolas, no one is going to hurt you and if worried about Luke. He isn't here," Laura said as she reached out and grabbed her oldest son's arm and guided him into the room. "Where is he?" Robin asked as she took a seat on the couch. "Luke decide that it would be to much tension with him around and so, he went to the club early," Laura said. "That's nice of him," Nikolas said. The tension in the room stayed even after Lucky came down stairs with Lu, his grandmother and, Liz. The women tried to get both boys to relax around each other but nether was going for it. Lucky spent most of his time talking to everyone but Nikolas. Laura would have said something but it was clear that Nikolas was avoiding Lucky as well. The group sat down for dinner and was have way through the meal when the doorbell rang. Lucky got up to answer it and just as he got to the door. It was kicked opened and a group of armed men stormed into the room. One grabbed Lucky and shoved him hard against the wall. "No one move," Ari said as he walked into the Spencer's living room. "What is going on here?" Nikolas demanded when he realized that Ari and these men all worked for his grandmother. "I said don't move," Ari said. He motioned to the men and Nikolas soon found himself facing a wall and having his hands tied. Laura noticed that Lucky was being tied up as well and tired to help but one man roughly grabbed her and shoved her into the nearest chair. "Get off her," Lucky yelled and he tried to get free but it was no use the man that was holding him refused to loosen his grip at all. "Get them to the car," Ari commanded and the two men holding Lucky and Nikolas shoved the boys out of the house and into the waiting car. Ari stood and watched as the women were all tied to their chairs. As soon as the man came to Lu, he looked at Ari to see if he wanted her tied up as well. Ari noticed that the child was to small to have her hands tied to the chair and he ordered, "Put her in the closet and lock the door." The man did exactly what Ari command and then the group left without another word. Laura watched as the door closed and fought to get free. "Lu?" she called out to the little girl. "Yes, mommy," came a small voice from the closet. "Is your dad's coat in the closet with you?" Laura asked and hoped that Luke had left it. Luke hated cell phones and normally left his phone in the pocket of his coat and if so, it would be in the closet with the little girl. Lu was quiet for a few moments but the women heard her moving around in the closet. "Yes, I have it," Lu said. "Good, get out the cell phone and call daddy for us," Laura called and hoped the little girl could stay calm just a few moments longer. Lu stood in the closet shaking with fear. She reached up and looked for the phone and pulled it out. As she was starting to cry as she dialed the phone and when Claude's voice come over the line she was almost couldn't stop crying to talk to the bartender. "I need to talk to my daddy," Lu said through her tears. Claude looked at the phone and then waved Luke over to the bar. "I think it is for you," Claude said as he handed the phone over to Luke. Luke looked at Claude with a puzzled look on his face as he took the phone. "Spencer," Luke said as he took the phone. "Daddy," Lu said trying as she tried to stop crying to talk but the more she fought the harder it was to talk. "Angel, What is wrong?" Luke asked but all he heard was the sound of the little girl crying. Luke didn't like this and before he put the phone down Luke spoke to the little girl. "Lu, I'm coming home." Luke then dropped the phone and headed for the door. "Claude look after things for me. I have to go home," and he was off. Mac who was having a night out with Felicia noticed the look on Luke's face and didn't like things. Robin had gone over the Spencer's for dinner and the cop in Mac told him something was wrong. Felecia noticed this and said, "Let's go," and the couple took off as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Luke made it home in no time flat and ran into the house. He found the women still tied up but what bothered him the most that there was no sign of the boys or Lu. Laura called out as he rushed into the room, "Lu is in the closet and Helena took the boys." "Damn," Luke muttered and he pulled opened the closet first and found the little girl on the floor crying. He bent down and picked her up in his arms. "Its ok, sweetheart. Your safe now," Luke comforted the child as he went over to untie his wife. As soon as Laura's hands were free she took the little girl and started to rock her. Luke went from one lady to the other and untied each one of them. "What happened? "Ari and some men came in while we were having dinner. They tied Lucky and Nikolas up and took them out to the car and tied us to our chairs. Ari had placed Lu in the closet and thanks to your aversion to cell phones, we had a way to call for help," Laura said as she tried to stay calm but the fear for her sons was starting to grow. Especially after what Laura heard what Helena tried to do to Lucky earlier in the week. She didn't like the idea of him being anywhere near that woman. "What's going on?" Liz asked in a shaken voice. Laura walked over to the shaken girl and wrapped her arm around her. "It's ok sweet heart. We'll get Lucky back," Laura said in a warm and loving voice. "Why they take him?" Liz asked. "Helena took him to get back at us but she will not have him for long," Laura said and she looked at Luke as she said those words. "Your right and I'm going to the yacht now. I might be able to stop her before she leaves and if not. I'll take Sonny's boat and catch up with them," Luke said grabbing his gun from the locked box in the closet and heading to the door. He was just about out the door when Mac and Felicia walked inside. "What's going on?" Mac demanded. "Ask them, I have to go," Luke said and he tried to get by Mac. "I'm asking you," Mac said grabbing Luke by the arm and preventing him from leaving. "Bubba, get off me. Helena just took my kid and I don't have time to talk to you about it. You want a report then ask them. I'm leaving," and with that said, Luke pulled free from Mac and ran to his car. He was gone before Mac could do anything to stop him. Mac turned to Robin and asked, "You all right." "Yes, I'm fine but go help Luke. Helena took Nikolas as well," Robin said in a shaken voice. Mac realized that this wasn't a bluff and he quickly left the house to catch up with Luke. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Luke arrived at the docks and was surprised not only find the yacht still in its dock but it totally deserted. He slowly walked on to the top decks and start to look around. He was just finishing up when Mac arrived to help. "Its no good Bubba. The queen bat is gone," Luke said. "Why would Helena leave her yacht?" Mac asked. "She has the money to get another one. Helena wanted to get out of town fast and traveling by boat is just to slow," Luke said as he started back down the gangplank. "I'll put an APB out on Helena and anyone that is known to work for her. Well get your son back," Mac said as he put a supporting hand on Luke's shoulder. "I'll get my kid back. By now, Helena has taken him out of the country and out of your reach. If anyone is going to save Lucky it is going to be me," and with that said Luke took off. He had one stop to make before heading home and then he had to get back to Laura to make sure she was okay before going off to look for Lucky. Chapter 6 Back to Luke's Secret Past |
