| Chapter 25 Friday night, the night of the ELQ board meeting� "Well, I guess the other board members decided not to show up," Edward said pleased that Sonny and Jax were absent for the meeting. "I think we should start without them," AJ said just as pleased as his grandfather at the missing board members. Suddenly, Reginald walked into the living room and said with a stunned look on his face, "Ah, Mr. Spencer and Ms. Quartermaine are here for the meeting." And with that Tracy and Steven walked into the living room together. Ned watched the stunned looks on his family's face with a look of glee. He couldn't wait for Steven to tell his grandfather how much of ELQ he really took over from Jr. in such a short time. "Tracy, I thought I told you never to come back to this house again," Edward yelled at his daughter. "I'm here just to watch," Tracy said with a sly smile on her face and she walked over to the bar and purred herself a drink. "What are you doing here, Cassadine?" Edward demanded as he glared at his daughter. "I'm a new stockholder and my name is Steven Spencer," Steven said as he calmly walked into the living room and took a set one of the empty chairs. "You are what?" AJ snapped at him in shock and disbelief. "Yes, AJ. I am a stockholder," Steven said. He sounded condescending towards AJ and he was treating him like an irritable child at this moment. "I bought Jason Morgan's, Jasper Jax, and Ms. Quartermaine's stock this past week. I now have more then enough stock to take control over this company." "Over my dead body," Edward yelled. "I don't think it will take that but I think he can do it," Tracy said smiling coldly at her father. "You are behind this!" Edward snapped. "No, I'm just here for entertainment, but you were betrayed a member of the family," Tracy said. "Ned," AJ said his voice cold and hard towards his cousin. "You got it, Jr." Ned said he smiled the same cold smile back at AJ. "Why?" Edward snapped at him. "Don't you know. Jr. has been lying to you for months now. Michael isn't his son but Jason's. Also, he has been using emotional blackmail to keep control over Carly. I am sick of his attitude and I figured it was time to take him down a few pegs," Ned said as he walked toward AJ in a threatening manor. "Carly is unfit to be a mother and Jason is brain damaged. No court in the land will take Michael from the only loving home he ever had," AJ said. "Oh, a home where you have two drug attacks and a alcoholic!" Steven said his voice full of venom. "Stay out of this Cassadine." AJ snapped at him. "No, I'm not staying out of it and my last name isn't Cassadine any more," Steven said as he got up from his chair and addressed the room. "Before you start throwing threats Jr. I think you should read this report." And Steven threw a folder at him. AJ looked over the papers and then looked up in shock at Steven. "That's right. I now control 25% of ELQ's companies and I can take over the rest of it without any problem. You forgot one thing when you went after Carly and threaten her with Ferncliff. She is a Spencer and from what I was told by Lucky, 'all Spencer's look after each other.' So, she is now my family and that means I'm going to do everything in my power to help her. So, you have a choice. You divorce Carly without any trouble or loose ELQ for good." "You wouldn't dare," AJ said. "AJ!" Edward called out right then and took the file from him. Edward looked it over and asked in a tight voice. "What do you want?" "I told you want I wanted. I'll keep the companies. Chalk it up to lesson on under estimating a Spencer, but as for the stock. I'll sell back to rightful owners for a little profit, but Carly and Michael are free from this family," Steven told him. Edward thought of this for a long time. Alan and Monica both looked at AJ with hate in their eyes for lying to them about Michael and for the fact that he took his brother's son from him. They didn't love Carly but Jason should have been with his son. Finally Edward spoke, "You have a deal, Spencer." "Good. Carly's lawyer is Alexis Davis. She will be contraction you with for the details. I will turn things over after they get a divorce and Michael is not longer connected to AJ. Until then I have some suggestions about this stockholders report. The first two deals are trash and my vote is no. The second two are no concern to you because I now control those companies and the last three propels are a waste of money. So, my vote on them is no." And with that Steven got up and walked out of the room without another words. Carly went with him and he waited for her together Michael and a few things and they left the house for good. As they left, all they heard was raised voices from Edward, AJ, Ned and Tracy as they went at it. Carly sat in the front seat beside Steven as they headed toward Bobbie's brownstone. "Ah, Steven," Carly said using Stefan's new name for the first time. "Yes," Steven asked. "I want to thank you. I never thought anyone in the Spencer family would stand up for me like that," Carly told him. "Carly, I will stand up for you as long as you don't hurt anyone that I care about," Steven told her.
