| Chapter 1 Helena's plan worked but she lost Luke in the process. Luke went back to the life on the streets and tired to forget about Helena and the Cassadines. Helena on the other hand, never stopped lusting after him and the older they got the stronger the pull between them got. It wasn't until much later in life that Helena found a way at least for a moment to pull Luke back into her web. Her chance came when Lucky went to work for her just to get back at his father after finding that it was Luke that raped Laura. Lucky told Helena that he wanted information on his family and Helena was going to give him that and much more. "I knew you could get the file for me if you worked for it," Helena said as she handed Lucky the money. Luke was listening in and he got a bad feeling about all of this. Helena was not exactly herself at this moment and her words meant more then she was saying. "Here take the money," Helena told Lucky. As Lucky reached out for the money, Helena grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him toward her and on to the couch. "Get off me," Lucky yelled and tried to pull away. Luke jumped at his son's words and ran out the door. He wasn't going to sit around and listen to the rest. He knew to well what the old bat was going to do. All Luke hoped was that he could get to Lucky before any real harm came to him. "Relax, Lucky. I'm not going to hurt you," Helena said as she started to pull his shirt out from under his pants. "Your sick," Lucky said and tried to get free. "Your father didn't say that. You are about his age, when first met. Fitting, I was his first as well," Helena said and before Lucky got a chance to say anything. She kissed him long and hard. Lucky's eyes were wide and full of fear and discuss. He tried to get free but Helena was stronger then he took her for and held him pinned on the couch. Lucky felt like he was going to get sick as her hands started to run up and down his body. Then a sound that he knew very well and a voice turned things around. "Get off him," Luke said as he cocked the gun and pointed right at the back of Helena's head. "Luke, darling. I was waiting for you," And with those words spoken. Ari and another man walked up behind Luke and pointed their guns on him. Helena moved just enough to get up off of Lucky but she still hadn't let go of him. "Now, I have a deal for you. I want to be with one Spencer tonight. You pick who it's going to be. You or you son?" Helena told Luke with a cold smile. "I could kill you," Luke said as his mind raced to find away to get them both out of this mess. "They would get you first and I would get 'Lucky'," Helena said with an evil smile. Lucky looked sick and Luke couldn't blame the kid. He did realize that she was right and that left him with no choice. He knew she was setting a trap for him but at the moment he saw no way out of it. All that mattered right now was getting Lucky away from her. "Ok, but he leaves, now," Luke told her. "Fine with me. All I want is your word that you will be mine for tonight," Helena told him. "You got it," Luke said feeling the empty feeling come back at him once again. "Dad!" Lucky said in shock at what his father just said. "Go home and wait for me," Luke said as he put the gun away and Helena let go of Lucky. "No, You can't do this," Lucky said. "GET!" Luke yelled and for the first time in Lucky's life. He saw a new look on Luke's face. A look of shame! Lucky wanted to stop it but sticking around would only make his father feel worse and so he left the yacht but he didn't go home. He hung out side the yacht and waited for his father to join him. He tried not to think about what was going on inside Helena's bedroom at that every moment. Lucky wanted to kick himself for leading his father in her web. "Let's get this over with," Luke said in an empty defeated voice. "You used to like it," Helena told him. "No, I used to act like I liked it. I was sicken by you after the first month," Luke said but he did pull her in his arms and kiss her. He was amazed that he hadn't forgotten how to fake it with her. Luke pushed everything from his mind and tried to get this night over with but Helena wasn't going to have it that way. She controlled every action that night and by the time they were done. Luke wanted to pull his skin off where she touched him and that would have left him with nothing. He knew that this night was going to be with him for a long time to come. The only thing that made it worth it was the fact that Helena didn't get to Lucky. At least the kid didn't have to live with this type of guilt. "You stay away from him," Luke said after getting dressed. "Lucky? I wouldn't harm the boy. I know how much you love him," Helena said. "Get this Helena. No more! I am not your play thing and what we had is over. You get near my family or me and I will kill every Cassadine alive. You will be the last to go. I will make your death very painful. You taught me how to kill, remember," Luke said his voice was cold and flat. He looked at her right in the face and Helena knew he meant it. "Luke, Can't you see that I love you," Helena told him. "Love me. Helena you can't love anyone. You don't know what it is," Luke said and he left the room. The sun was coming up as he got walked down the gangplank and Lucky ran up to him. "Dad?" he said not sure of what else to say. "Its, over cowboy. Let's go," Luke said as he put a hand on his son's shoulder and they walked home together not talking for a long time. It was Luke that broke the silence first. "Now, you know my darkest secret." "Why?" Lucky said looking at his father with pain filled eyes. "I was dumb. I thought money could get me everything that I wanted. I learned that I was wrong. Money was nothing and I paid a high price for that lesson," Luke told him and they stopped on the porch and sat down in the swing and talked. "How old were you?" Lucky asked him. "Your age. Ruby gotten hurt and couldn't work. We were broke and the courts were going to take Bobbie and me, if she lost the apartment. I had friend that worked for a wealth woman. He said that she had a friend that needs a companion for the night. It paid the rent or at least bought us time. I thought it was one night and it should have been over and done with. If it worked out that way, I might have walked way with my soul but I feel in love with the things she that was offering. Bobbie had a real home and lost of nice things but I lost a lot to get them. Helena destroyed me more then I ever admitted. I didn't realize it until I met your mother," Luke told him. "She doesn't know?" Lucky asked but he had a feeling he knew the answer. "No. I never told her about Helena. I couldn't look her in the eye and tell her all it. Lucky, I hate what I did. I hate her even more. Life with Helena was a nightmare and by the time I left that last day. I wanted to die. I would have if it weren't for Ruby. She pulled me out of a gutter and gave me the will to live once again," Luke said. "Now, I know why she acts the way she does. She wants to posses you," Lucky said. "Yes. She still thinks she owns me. You can hate me for what you know about Helena and the rape, but remember one thing. Helena is dangerous and she is a trap that his hard to get out of. I want you to be careful around her," Luke told him. "Dad, I can't hate you. You did something for me that you didn't have, too. I have been rotten to you and you could just walked out on me. You didn't have to switch places with me and I feel like I did that to you and I'm sorry," Lucky told him. "Did what? You didn't know what she had planned. You don't know Helena like I do and I am grateful. So, don't worry about this night. I can live with it like the others. I just want you to tell your mother. I don't know what she is going say and I don't want to find out," Luke said. "Can I tell Liz? I know she isn't going to tell anyone. I promised her that there would be no secrets between us and I think she would understand this," Lucky told him. "Okay, I trust you and I know you will not tell any that would use it against us. I just hope that Helena doesn't tell Laura," Luke said. "Then tell her," Lucky said. "It isn't that easy. How do you tell the woman that is everything to you about a time in your life that you want to forget," Luke said and he got up and headed back into the house. Lucky sat and watched the sun come the rest of the way up. He felt sorry for his father and wished things could have different. He knows him better now then he ever did before. Luke was more then his hero. He was man that was hurt by a woman at young age and it controlled his entire life. Lucky didn't know how to handle this change and hoped that Liz could help him figure it out. He knew that she was most probably waiting for him and so, he headed for her house. Lucky climbed into the window and found her fast asleep full dressed on top of the bed. "Angel?" He said as he walked up to her. "Where have you been?" Liz snapped at him. "I spent the night waiting for dad and we just got done talking," Lucky said as he sat down beside her and he told her everything that happened. "Now, I understand," Liz said. "I wish I did," Lucky said sadly. "Lucky, don't you see. I know why she forgave him. Your mother might not know the truth but she knows his heart. I saw the eyes of my rapist and he looked at me with smugness. He knew he hurt me and was happy for it. I bet Luke didn't look like that. I bet he had been sorry the moment it was over with and she saw this. It was his eyes that helped her to forgive him. She knew he was sorry and that means a lot," Liz told him. "I know he was and now I know more. Why do I feel guilty for starting all of this?" Lucky asked his voice full of pain. "You didn't start it. You didn't set out to hurt anyone. Blame Helena or the man hurt me but not yourself and not your father. Go home, Lucky," Liz said. "I'm going, too. I just stopped by to tell you about my night but please, don't anyone," he asked her. "I won't. Luke never talked about me. Why should I talk about him," Liz said and she sent Lucky on his way. She sat and thought about what Lucky told her and she saw his father in a different light. He was more of a human then he ever was before and Liz felt like she wanted to get knows him better. Luke lived through and event that that changed him forever and Liz wanted to find out how he did it. She was living now after the rape but not the way she wanted to and knowing Luke might help speed things up. Chapter 2 Back to Luke's Secret Past |
