| Chapter 12 Nikolas looked at his brother and panicked. Lucky's eyes were blank and beside his earlier scream, he didn't utter a sound. Stefan looked over at Nikolas and said, "You look after Lucky and call for help. I am going down to help Luke." Stefan then took off in the same direction as Ari. As Stefan arrived on the loading dock, he found Ari pulling Helena's body up the ramp. "Help me!" Ari begged as Stefan got near him. "Where's Luke?" Stefan asked, ignoring Ari's request. "I hope he is food for the fishes. Please help me save her," Ari begged again and this time he finally managed to pull Helena on to dry land. Then he started to give her CPR. Stefan looked at his mother's boy toy with disgust and yanked him away from Helena. Her head dropped too far to the side and Stefan knew at that moment that his mother was dead. "Look, she is dead and there isn't anything that anyone can do for her. Now, tell me where in the world is Luke Spencer," Stefan demanded. "I shoved that monster out to sea. He killed the greatest woman on this planet and deserves to burn in HELL!" Ari yelled and he picked up Helena's dead body and started to rock her back and forth. Stefan glared coldly at him and with one quick movement kicked his mother's dead body back into the water. Helena lay there face down as Stefan let Ari have it with a lot of pent up rage. "You think that bitch would have saved you? You fool; she would have slit your throat if it met her needs. My mother was born without a soul and she is the one burning in hell along side the rest of my worthless family." Ari lost control right then and took a swing at Stefan. Stefan ducked the play toy's attack and punched the man with one quick blow to the jaw. Ari lost his balance and went crashing down into the water. Ari had cracked his head on the concrete hard and landed face first. Stefan jumped in and tried to save him but when he turned the man over Ari's eyes were blank. Stefan knew that he was dead and there was nothing he could do to save him. After pulling himself out of the water, Stefan turned every light on and around the water to see if he could catch sight of Luke, but there was nothing. Luke was gone and something told Stefan that he was dead. Stefan walked back up to help Nikolas with Lucky and for spite he left both Helena and Ari's bodies floating face down in the water. He thought it was fitting that his mother lay in the water unclaimed for all the lives she had destroyed in her life. Stefan found Nikolas holding Lucky close to him and rocking him slowly as he talked to him softly, hoping that Lucky would respond to his voice and start talking again. "Did you call for help?" Stefan asked as he sat down on the bed and checked on Lucky's condition. "Yes, but he isn't talking. What did she do to him?" Nikolas asked, he himself was just about on the verge of falling apart. Stefan sensed this and talked to his son in a calm and gentle voice, "Nikolas, I don't know what your grandmother did to Lucky, but we are going to procure the best help that money can buy. You are doing everything right by just being here for him. Now, I'm going to find a member of the staff and order them to look out for the rescue team. I want you to stay here and look after your brother." "Ok. How is Luke?" Nikolas asked as he wrapped the blanket tighter around his brother. He had found Lucky only in his underclothes and this was the only thing he could think of at the moment to give his brother some of his dignity back. "Luke's dead. We will talk about that later but right now, we have to think about Lucky and get him well. All right?" Stefan asked, looking at his son to making sure that he was still in control of his emotions. "What are we going to tell mother and Lucky?" Nikolas asked looking down at his brother with real grief on his face. "I'll tell your mother and as for Lucky, we will let her decide what is best," Stefan said and he went to get the staff on the needed tasks before help arrived. The medics arrived not long after Stefan came back up the Helena's room. The local police officials talked to Stefan while the medics went to Lucky's side. It wasn't until one of the men touched Lucky that Stefan and Nikolas realized how bad off Lucky was. He started to kick and lash out at the men while he made these animalistic noises. The men backed off and looked at Nikolas and Stefan with puzzled looks. "We caught my mother in the act of sexually molesting him. Why don't you let Nikolas and myself move him to the stretcher," Stefan said and together father and son got Lucky moved. Nikolas let with his brother while Stefan stayed behind with the local authorities to explain to them what had happened there. It felt like it took days and Stefan was sick of telling the same story over and over again. He never once told it differently and with the power and influence the Cassadines have, the law officials decided that it was best to take his word for it and let the matter drop. They did promise to do whatever they could to find Luke's body and they were searching the surrounding water at that moment. Stefan took one of the cars and drove to the hospital, where he found out that Lucky's condition hadn't changed and in fact, no one knew how bad off he was because they still couldn't get near him. "Nikolas?" Stefan said as he walked into the room where they had placed Lucky. "Did they tell you?" Nikolas asked as he looked up at his father's voice. "Yes, I called Laura and she is on her way. I hope to have some kind of news for her about Luke but Lucky I'm not to sure. They found a drug in Helena's room and we think that she gave it to him. They are running tests now but they don't have to resources that GH has and it might take awhile. I am trying to arrange to have Lucky and a sample of the drug sent to General Hospital but it will take time." "I hope not too long. He really doesn't want to be touched," Nikolas said as he ran a hand slowly over Lucky's face. Lucky didn't move or react to Nikolas' touch, but at least he wasn't fighting to get away from him either. Whenever someone else touched Lucky, he would go into a rage and keep on fighting until he was left alone. Chapter 13 Back to Luke's Secret Past |
