Chapter 13 Laura Spencer and Bobbie Jones arrived at the hospital six hours after Stefan called. They walked into the hospital and went right up to the desk and Laura asked, "I'm Mrs. Spencer. My son was admitted here?" The woman looked at her charts then pointed down the hallway. "He is in room three. You can go right on in. Mr. Cassadine and his son are with him now," the woman said and Laura couldn't help but see the look of pity on the woman's face. "Thank you," Laura said, as she and Bobbie headed to Lucky's room. Both were wondering why the woman didn't mention Luke but figured he was out dealing with Helena's death and would be back soon. As soon as Laura walked into Lucky's room she went right to her son's side. Stefan and Nikolas tired to stop her but they were not fast enough. Laura touched Lucky's hand and he suddenly leaped off the bed and shoved himself in a corner and started rock back and forth shaking his head slowly. Laura was taken back by this and looked at Stefan with questioning eyes. "What happened to him?" she demanded. "Mother attempted to.. or maybe even accomplished in sleeping with Lucky. She had to drug him to get his compliance. The doctor thinks that it is the reason he reacts to being touched the way he does. I have arranged to have Lucky sent to GH. I was just waiting for your arrival," Stefan said as Nikolas walked over to his brother and slowly guided him back to the bed. "What does Luke think about this?" Bobbie asked Stefan coldly. She hated the fact that Stefan was in charge and wondered where her bother was and why he was letting this happen. Stefan looked at Nikolas with a sad look on his face and then addressed the women. "Let's go out here and talk," Stefan said as he walked out the door. Bobbie and Laura soon joined him and looked at him with hard eyes waiting for him to start explaining. Stefan ignored their looks and put a gentle hand on Laura's shoulder. This worried Laura and fear started to build in as Stefan told her of the events that unfolded at the house. "No, you're lying. Luke isn't dead," Bobbie yelled at him looking around for any sign of her brother." "I'm not lying and I did try but Ari moved to fast and Luke was taken off guard. He did manage to take Helena out before he fell over the railing," Stefan told her. "I don't care about that bitch. Where is my husband?" Laura demanded as tears started to appear in her eyes. "They looked Laura but they didn't find a body. I have been pushing them to keep on looking but I can't force them to keep it up. We might have to accept that he will never be found," Stefan told her. "No. You killed him or your holding him somewhere. Luke isn't dead. I would know. I would know�" Laura yelled at him and started to pound on Stefan with balled up fists. Nikolas walked out just then and pulled his mother off his father. He looked at Bobbie and Laura and said, "He isn't lying and Luke did die because of Ari. Lucky saw it and that is one of the reasons he is in this state. Now, you might hate us and I can't blame you any more because I finally understand why people hate the Cassadines and I hate myself. But Lucky is the one that matters right now and he does not need to hear people yelling and arguing. So, please for his sake, let's do this some other time and worry about him," Nikolas told them with tears coming to his eyes. He felt pain for his brother and mother and knew why she acted the way she did. He would act the same way if it were Stefan and not Luke that had died. "I'm sorry Nikolas. You're right. Lucky is the one that matters and I'll find out from him what happened to Luke," and with that Laura walked back the room and sat down beside her son. Laura was fighting to keep things together. She knew that Lucky needed her at this moment and her feelings for Luke and Stefan had to be pushed aside for now. All that mattered was that they get her son home and the help he needed. Lucky was moved about an hour later and Stefan noticed that Bobbie hovered near by watching him like a hawk every time he got near Lucky. He knew that she didn't trust him and it didn't matter. He only cared that Lucky got the help he needed and what Bobbie or anyone else thought didn't matter in the least. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` When they finally got Lucky back to the states and admitted into GH, Gail Baldwin and Alan Quartermaine took over Lucky's care. Laura had hoped that he would be better by this time but he still reacted very violently when he was touched. The only bright side to Lucky's case was that the drug analysis was completed and it was most likely the drug causing most of his problems. Laura was forced to make a decision about what to do. Alan said that in time the drug would slowly leave Lucky's system but he didn't know what long-term damage it would do to him physically or mentally. Alan did have an antidote that would speed things up but that meant Lucky had to be restrained until he was back normal. Laura's decision was easy and she chose to have Lucky restrained and given the antidote. She feared that she had lost Luke. She knew it would be almost impossible to face life, if she lost Lucky as well. So, Alan gathered Bobbie, Amy, and two other nurses and they all walked into Lucky's room. Nikolas watched beside his mother as they grabbed Lucky and while he kicked, bit and fought them. He was placed in restraints and an IV was placed in his arm. Lucky started to make that animalistic noise again as he rocked in the restraints. Laura cried as she tried to comfort her son but he didn't want her comfort at this moment and he hated her touch. He did finally fall asleep and everyone was grateful. Now, they had to wait for the drug to work and to see what damage had been done to him. While Lucky was being treated, Stefan's life was just about to blow up in his face. Alexis had waited long enough and she finally told him about her trip. Alexis found Stefan at his desk at General Hospital. He had been avoiding most of the Spencer family because as soon as they landed, people had started blaming him for Luke's death. He figured until they knew the truth, It would best to stay out of the way. Nikolas had promised to keep him in touch and so far it worked. "Stefan? Can I talk to you," Alexis asked as she walked into the room. "Sure, Alexis. What's on your mind?" Stefan asked as he looked up for the file had had been trying to read. His mind wasn't on work but he had to do something to keep busy. Alexis took few deep breaths and then began. "You left before I came back for Greece. I had more information to give you but I didn't want to give it over the phone. I thought you would like to have it personally," Alexis said and she laid the file down in front of Stefan. "It doesn't matter any more. Luke's past with my mother is in the past," Stefan said and he shoved the file away. "I think you'd better read it," Alexis said and she pushed it back at him. Stefan relented and slowly read the file. Alexis watched as his face went from passive to outraged. "Are you playing games with me?" he asked coldly. "No, I would never do this to you. I swear to you that this is the truth or the truth Mikkos came up with," Alexis said in a panic. She knew Stefan well enough not to cross him at anytime or place. Stefan looked at her and knew she wasn't lying but that didn't mean this was the truth. "Sorry, If you are not playing games then mother was and I am not going to fall for it. There is no way Luke Spencer could be my father," Stefan said and he picked up the phone to look into this. Alexis watched as Stefan talked to someone on the other end and then he started to yell at the man. He soon slammed the phone down and glared at Alexis coldly. She took a step back a little afraid of what he had found out. "What?" she asked. "Order a blood test. My loving mother told half the family the truth and now they are calling in a lawyer to get their hands on the fortune. He says that he saw that will and the proof that Mikkos had and it is the truth. I think he is too old and feeble and has been in my loving mother's pocket too long," Stefan snapped and he got up from his chair and went for walk. Chapter 14 Back to Luke's Secret Past |
