| Author's note: A little history change before you read the story. Bobbie never married Stefan and in fact she hates the Cassadines just as much as her bother does. The reasons for this are because of the events that are about to be told. Prologue Sixteen-year-old Luke Spencer stood in front of his mirror and straightened the tie of his rented tux. He couldn't believe he agreed to this and was thinking about backing out, but the problem is that he already spent most of the money that was given to him in advance. So, he didn't have much choice but to go through with it. Luke couldn't help but wonder how Josh did this almost every night and still looked at himself in the mirror the next day. He was having trouble doing it right now and he hadn't done anything yet! Bobbie, his six year old little sister, ran into the room and started to jump around until he paid attention to her. Luke bent over and swung her into his arms and placed her on the dresser. "How is my favorite little sister?" Luke asked her smiling at the little girl. "I am your only sister and why do you have to go out tonight? You said you were going to take me to the movies," Bobbie said, sticking her bottom lip out and pouting. "I am sorry sis, but this can't be helped. I will take you to the movies tomorrow night," Luke said, kissing her on the cheek. "You promise?" she asked brightening up a little bit. "I promise, now let me finish getting ready. Josh will be here any moment and I don't want to keep him waiting," Luke said picking her up and placing her on the floor. Bobbie left the room and went to listen to the radio. At the sight of his sister, Luke's reasons for going out that night were reinforced and it helped get rid of some of the guilt he was feeling. At least for the moment. Ruby stood in the doorway. "You don't have to do this. We'll get the money some other way," Ruby said as she tried one more time to get him to change his mind. She didn't like what Luke was going to do. It was bad enough that she took money for sex, but to have him do it turned her stomach. She had wanted more for Luke and Bobbie but things weren't working out that way. Life just kept on bring them down even deeper and it didn't look like it was going to get better any time soon. "We have to get the money by tomorrow or we are going to be on the streets. I can't let that happen, Aunt Ruby. Don't worry it is only this one time. After tonight, I will go back to school and pretend nothing happened but we have no choice right now," Luke said and kissed his Aunt good night and headed out the door without looking back. She closed her eyes and shook her head sadly. Ruby stood by the window and watched Luke standing by the sidewalk for his friend. She couldn't help but think this one night was going to hunt Luke for the rest of his life. Even if it lasted one night! Josh soon pulled up in a Silver Stingray and Luke got in and they sped away. After a few moments of uneasy silence between the teens, Luke finally found his voice and asked, "What is she like?" He was trying to act sure of himself but he failed at it. Josh could see right through Luke's act and knew his friend was scared out of his wits. "Does it matter? You only have to be nice to her and do what she asks of you. You play your cards right and she might even want to keep you around," Josh said as he handed Luke a small bottle of whiskey. He figured that the drink would calm his friend's shaky nerves. Luke took a long drink then handed back the bottle. The feeling of dread had returned and it grew even stronger as the estate came into view. Luke never been any place that came close to this place and looked out the window with amazed look on his face, as Josh drove the car up the long drive that went on for a mile. Luke couldn't believe someone lived like this and he almost told Josh to turn back. This house was way out of Luke's league and he knew it, but before he could say anything. Josh stopped in front of the mansion and got out. Laughing at the expression on Luke's face, he tossed the keys to the valet. "Relax, think about all the money she has," Josh said smiling at his friend and the two teens headed up to the house. The two teens walked into the main hallway and handed the maid their coats. Josh grabbed a drink for him and his lady friend and he motioned for Luke to do the same. They then walked into the ballroom and found the ladies talking together by a set of double doors that lead out into a brightly-lighted garden. Josh kissed his friend on check and introduced Luke to the women. "Luke, this is Joan. She is my special friend and this is Helena. She is going to be your companion for tonight." Luke took a deep breath and bent slightly to kiss Helena's hand. "I am glad to meet you," Luke said as he tried to keep his voice from cracking. It did that when he was nervous and right now, he was scared out of his mind. He wanted to run and hid but it was to late. He was there and now he had to stick things out to the end no matter where they led him. He was grateful that lady was not bad to look at and in fact, Luke was taken with her beauty. She stood a little taller than him and looked like a china doll that Bobbie had. Her skin was soft and fair, and her hair was a long silky brown. She smiled at him and pulled him closer to her. "I am not going to bite," The woman smiled at him, "How about a dance so we can get to know each other better?" and Helena pulled Luke onto the dance floor. They spent most of that evening talking and dancing but the part that Luke was dreading came all too soon. She was ready to leave just after midnight and Luke got her coat and his. Then they headed to her limo and back into the city. The second the door was closed and they were driving down the road; Helena pulled him close and started to kiss him long and deep. Her hands move up and down his body going places that no one has ever touched him before. He was unprepared for this and Luke pulled away asking, "Could we go a little slower?" Trying to get his breath back. He was having mixed emotions about things right then and he was trying to get his mind to work but Helena was making it hard to do anything at the moment. "You haven't spent any time with a woman before have you?" she asked him and pulled him even closer. Luke lied and said in high voice, "Sure, but I just want to take it a little slower. We have all night." Helena smiled knowingly and nodded her head. "We have longer than that if things work out. It might want to keep you around. So, relax and let's have some fun." And with those words spoken, she started running her hand under his shirt and kissing him on the neck. Luke was glad she wasn't that bad to look at because it made what he a little easier. He had to shut down his mind and follow along with her. It was the only way he was going to get through this night. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next morning as Luke was getting dressed; Helena walked up behind him and started to nibble on his neck. "I have a deal for you. How about being my companion? I will make it worth your while," Helena said running her hands up and down his body. "What are you offering me?" Luke asked trying to sound sure of himself, but in fact, he wasn't sure about anything. The liquor he drank last night was still in his system that he found it hard to think straight and where her hands ended up didn't help matters. "I will give you a car, a place to stay and money to spend. All you have to do is join me when and where I want. What do you think?" she said putting her arm around him. "Sure, why not?" Luke said and the deal was sealed with a kiss. Luke didn't know it at the time but he was kissing the devil herself but he soon was going to find out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Luke sat on the veranda in the villa in Greece looking at the sunset. He had spent six months traveling where and when Mrs. Cassadine wanted. The newness wore off a month into his adventure and he soon learned underneath those looks was a woman with no heart. He would have tried to get out of the deal a long time ago but Bobbie had gotten sick soon after things were set up. Helena had taken care of everything for him and his sister was getting better. Bobbie also had the first real nice home in her life and everything she could ever dream off. Ruby kept telling him that they could find a way to make it but he wasn't ready to take that chance. He wanted more of his sister then a life on the streets and if it caused him a little time with Helena then it was worth it. Helena soon joined him on the veranda and slowly raised her arms and placed a Cassadine medallion around his neck. Luke looked at the charm on the end and asked, "What is this for?" "You are now considered a paramount part of this family of mine. The only people who have one of those are family members or loyal servants," Helena said as her hands moved under his shirt. Luke realized what she meant but he was smart enough to keep his mouth shut. Luke turned around and pulled her close. They kissed long and passionately then they headed to the bedroom. Luke and Helena spent the rest of the day in bed and part of the next. He did what ever she wanted without complaint. Luke knew this was what he was there for and what he got paid for. Helena didn't care of his needs only hers. He was hers and he had deal with it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Luke was about to climb into Helena's limo and head home for a visit with his family when another limo pulled up and a man got out. Mikkos Cassadine didn't even look in Luke's direction. He just climbed out of the limo and walked into the house. Luke looked at Helena and asked, "Who is that?" "That is my husband and from the looks of him, he is not in a good mood. I will call you when you're needed next. I have placed the money in your account. If your sister gets sicker call me and I will arrange for the best doctors to tend to her. I can't have you worried about her when you are with me," Helena said and kissed him good-bye. Luke headed to the airport soon after that and Helena headed inside to deal with Mikkos. "You have been spending too much of your time with that boy," Mikkos yelled. "I can do what I want. You have your playthings and I have mine," Helena said coldly as she purred herself a drink. "I could have your toy killed before he gets back to his family," Mikkos threatened. "Do that and I will kill that young play thing of yours. I know how much you love her," Helena said to her husband and moved right into his face. Mikkos looked at Helena and realized she could do it. Mikkos said, "All right, I will allow you to have your distractions but I need your complete attention these next few weeks. I have very important business dealings and I need my wife at my side." "I'll be right at your side. Smiling like your loving wife," Helena said and with that Mikkos went up to his room. Helena watched him leave and put a hand on her stomach. She knew he would have not only killed Luke but herself as well, if he knew that she was going to have a baby. Mikkos put up with her playthings because that gave him a reason to have his own. They got married because of their families wanted it. They never really loved each but they were each other's matches in other ways. Helena knew Mikkos as well as she knew herself. They did belong together but they need others to play with to get joy out of life. Helena did have one problem though. She needed to pass of her lover's child as his and that meant going to bed with Mikkos. He did solve one of problems thought, if she had to spend time with him. Then, she wasn't going to have to tell Luke about the baby or at least not until she had too. Luke was so attached to his family that if he got sick of her and finally wanted to leave. Then, she could easily tell him the truth and that keep him around until he wasn't needed any more. Afterwards she would get rid of Luke and any other connections she had to him. ~~~~~~~~~~ A year after Helena gave birth to Luke's child; Helena and Luke were in Paris. Helena had been looking for Mikkos' lover and finally found her and the child Natasha. Helena decided to pay back Mikkos for making a fool of her at one of the family gatherings. He showed the men the painting she had so willing posed for him. She was going to get rid of the lover and dump Natasha somewhere. She knew he would find out about it but she didn't care. Mikkos needed her too much to do anything more then complain. She would have to send Luke away for awhile to keep him safe. She might even cut him free and act like she didn't care any more. When, Mikkos got over the death of his child and lover then she would pick up where she left off with Luke. Luke hated opera, but because of the strange mood Helena was in he didn't complain. He was wondering if he did something to upset her and was trying to behave himself. Luke had just turned eighteen but looked older in his tux. Luke's hair was slicked back and he wore the Cassadine medallion for the entire world to see. He didn't around his family or friends but had no choice around Helena. After the performance was over, Luke and Helena stood outside the theater. "I have something to do. You go back to the hotel and wait for me. You be ready for me when I get there or I am going to be very upset with you," Helena said kissing him on the lips. Luke hated it when she treated him like that but didn't say anything. Helena paid him to be her companion and bed partner, nothing more. "All right, I'll be waiting." Luke said and he left her alone on the curbside. Soon a man joined her and said, "She walks the child every night after performing." "Good, I want to watch and I want her to know who killed her and the child," Helena said. "No, I will kill the slut but not the baby," Victor snapped. "You will do as I say," Helena told him. "Mikkos will have us but killed if we kill Natasha and your pet as well. He will take the lovers death hard but he will go on a rampage if the child dies. Leave her alone and let who ever finds the woman's body take care of her," Victor said. "All right, but I don't want any mess ups. I want this woman dead," Helena said and they headed off to wait for their pray. Chapter 1 Back to Luke's Secret Past |
