Chapter Eight Father and Son

Suddenly both of them turned to see a Cassadine copter over the horizon and land
a few feet away. Grab you stuff. Lets get out of here, yelled Alexis over the
roar of the copter. Alexis helped Lucky with his stuff and they ran toward the
copter. The back door opened and they both jumped in.  Stefan lifted the copter
off the ground and headed back out to sea. They all saw a figure standing on one
of decks of the main house. Lucky almost could feel the hatred that was directed
in his direction.

As he looked away, Luckys eyes locked with Lukes. Neither one spoke for a long
time. (I never been in a copter. So, What comes next if its impossible? Im
sorry it just works with the story. Besides Luke can do just about anything.
Right?) Alexis and Luke switched places. Giving him and Lucky a chance to talk.

Hi, Cowboy. he said sitting down besides his son.

Dad? Lucky asked.

Yeah, kiddo its me and from this point on nothing will separate us again, he
said pulling Lucky into his arms.

All Lucky could do was cry. He stayed in the safety of his fathers arms. Hoping
this wasnt a dream. Its over Lucky. No one will ever hurt you ever again.
Luke said rocking him in his arms.

No, its not. Stavros isnt going let me go that easy. Lucky said looking up
into his fathers face.

Stavros time on this planet is number. I messed up once and let him live. Im
not going to make that mistake twice. Luke answered.

Lucky slid comfortably into Lukes arms. He was wondering what to say. After ten
years and all the questions, Luckys mind had gone blank. The strain between
them was mutual. Neither father nor Son knew what to say to each other. Alexis
slid the notebook from her backpack and hand it to Luke.

I know you read parts of this but this might help break the ice. offered
Alexis.

Luke took the notebook and opened to the part that turned his stomach. As he
read out load, Lucky had moved from his arms and had moved as far as possible.
He was trying to keep the memories from taken over and destroying him all over
again.

Dad,

Please tell me everything Stavros said was a lie. You could not have raped my
mother and have been keeping her from me because of pure hate.  He has to be the
monster not you! Did she really come to Stavros for protection but you made her
leave? Did you demand that Stavros keep me out of your hair? Whos the monster?
Him, me or is it you? One day I want the answers. I know his side but I want
yours. Until then those words will only be words. Nothing more. The only thing
that has kept me going is your love and the dream of you saving me someday.

Lucas Lorenzo S. Cassadine

How old were you when this happened. asked Luke brushing his hand across
Luckys cheek.

Eleven. said Lucky turning his head toward the window.

Look at me Lucky. pleaded Luke. Luckys blue eyes filled with fresh tears as
he looked up at his father. I am not going to lie to you. There has been enough
of that. So here is the truth. Yes. I raped your mother, and I have been paying
for that one mistake my whole life. I tried to get her to leave but she
wouldnt. I thought I was going to die and at that point nothing mattered any
more. I regretted it that the second everything was over with and have spent our
hole lives together trying to make up for it. She might have forgiven me but I
never will. As for the rest, Stavros was laying. He took your mother and held
her captive and forced her into an unwanted marriage. After he told her, I was
dead. Helena was the one who told her the truth two years later. She sent her
back to me only because she was threw with her. She had the Cassadine heir to
Helena that is all that mattered. Stavros wanted more and tried to drag her
back.  We fought and he was badly hurt. The only thing I did wrong there. I did
not kill that S. O. B.  because I would have none of this would have happened.

We were on the run from a man named Frank Smith and the Cassadines for five
years. When they caught up with us. Stavros took you to the main Cassadine
compound and placed us in a fancy prison. The threat was simple. I ever tried to
escape and you would be dead long before I could reach you. I have spent the
last ten years going over different plans trying to find one that would work. I
was to coward to risk your life on any of them, but I never stopped loving you.
I would fight the devil himself to save you and thats a promise.

Lucky just sat looking at his father. He was trying to sort out his mixed
feelings. When he finally spoke. Luke had to strain to lessen because his voice
was barely above a whisper. Dad. Thanks for being the first person too ever
tell me the truth. I have been used in as a pawn in a game between two warring
families. The truth is the only thing that I ever wanted. What happened between
you and mom has nothing to do with me. I cant hold the past against you that
would make me no better then Stavros. I learned that much over these years.

Lucky, you couldnt be Stavros on your worst day. said Luke lifting Luckys
face up to meet his.

They sat back and just treasured being in the same place together. It wasnt
long until both father and son fell a sleep.

Stefan? came Alexis voice in the darkness of the copter. Whats next? Lucas
is right. Stavros is coming and we better be ready for him.

What happens next is up to Spencers old friends. I hope they care about him
enough to help. answered Stefan or we might all end up dead yet.
