Chapter Six - The Great Escape Stefan laid out his plan to the Spencers. Luke went from total rage to absolute disbelief. Ten years of imprisonment has warped his brain. He was trusting a Cassadine to stop a Cassadine. The only thing that kept him going is Lucky. Luckys words and fears flashed in his mind and Luke silently promised himself that Luckys wish was about to come true. He was going to get his family back. Laura bundled up Lu Lu. She stuck Luckys letters in her large carpetbag and headed for the door. Ah, Laura. Please tell me you are not taking that thing? asked Luke pointing to the carpetbag that she carried. Yes, and Luke, we dont have time to argue. I have waited ten years to see my son and nothing is going to stop me. So stop taking and get walking. she said heading out the door. Luke just bowed and followed. Totally amazed that even ten years of imprisonment and his Angel hasn't lost her touch in telling him off. Stefan and Luke head toward the main control room with the rest not far behind. Stefan knocked on the door and as the guard opened it. Luke shoved the man back slamming him into the men at the computer console. Nikolas and Stefan did not need to help. Luke had waited ten years for this and he was enjoying himself completely, but before Luke broke Chiefs neck Stefan yelled, Luke, stop. We need him at least for now. After were done you can do anything you want. Until then he has to live. Glaring at the Security Chief Luke said in a calm even voice. You have two choices. One, tell the old Count here what he wants to know and you will die a fast death. Make us work for that info and by the time Im done you will be begging me to kill you. The Chief took one look into Lukes eyes and knew he meant every word of it. What do you want to know? came the choke of reply. Not from anything that Luke did but from the fear of what could happen to him. What time do you call Stavros at the main compound and whats the all clear sign? asked Stefan pulling up to the main computer. Twelve sharp and the words are Timoria, came the Chief words. Luke, break his hands. He is only telling us half of it. Said Stefan to everyones amazement, even Lukes. He just grabbed the Chiefs right hand and started breaking the guards fingers. He was about to move to the other hand when the chief yelled out. Mikkos Timoria. Thanks, Michael. That wasnt too hard now was it? Your loyalty to the Cassadine family has been greatly appreciated and your reward will come to you on the other side. IN HELL. with that Luke reached over and broke the guards neck. He could not help but smile as the body dropped to the ground. I have been dying to do that, said Luke as he sat in one of the chairs propping his feet up on the desk with his hands behind his head. The smile on his face said all. Revenge was a very sweet reward. Dont we need him to make that call to Stavros. Laura asked sitting down in one to the chairs. Sorry, Lasha. The call comes over the Computer system back at the main compound. When the message is received a special code keyed and everyone stands down at least for one more day. Everyday for a sniper is ready to shoot Lucky if the code is failed to be keyed in. Lucky is as good as dead and that code is changed everyday. I wasnt around to hear what todays code would be. So, I needed Michael to tell me. explained Stefan. As they watched the seconds tick by. Luke slowly leaned over to Stefan and whispered. If this fails. The young prince will join Lucky to his grave. Understand Cassadine. You might not believe me Luke, but all this isnt for you, Laura, or Lu Lu. Im doing this for Lucas. He been dreaming about this for to long and I love him to much to watch him suffer any longer. answered Stefan. We love him too much. said Nikolas. Lucas is my brother and Im tired of watching my father hurt him because of an old family grudge match between him and you. Before Luke could reply the computer kicked in asking for the code. Stefan typed in the numbered code and the word code. A few minutes later an all-clear sign came across the board. Now we lets go we have two days to get out of hear and get to Lucky. Hold it, Cassadine. What about tomorrow? They dont get the code my kids dead. Luke said glaring at Stefan. Spencer, I programmed the computer to reply with the new answer and coded numbers. Everything is going to be Ok. Now we have to shut down this operation and get Nikolas, Lasha, and Lu on a plane to Port Charles. So, we can get back to Lucas in time. Stefan said prying Lukes hands from his collar. Fine, but his name is Lucky not Lucas. Call him that again and Ill knock your teeth out. Luke said walking out the door to start on the next stage of the plan. Mumbling the words Spencer are you nuts? Stefan turned to Laura, Lasha. How did you put up with him all these years? he asked. Lukes not that bad. Youre just getting ten years of pent of anger and, I cant blame him. You not only imprisoned us, but stole our son away as well. Now you want our total cooperation, and the only proof we have that you can be trusted, is bringing us writings from a fifteen year old boy who is so starved for love and affection that he would take to any kind word. He is handling this very well under those conditions, but if you have any love for Stavros you well start praying for his soul, because when Luke is done, Stavros will be joining your father. Laura answered picking up her daughter and followed Nikolas out the door. Stefan started wondering if he was too late to bring them together. Could Luckys wish really come true or has Stavros and Helena won. He hopped at least for Luckys sake that wasnt true. He knew Lucky could not take much more punishment. Luke was like a kid in a candy store, that was told he could have as much as he wanted. After two hours of sneaking around and with a little help from the Count. All the Cassadine men were put out of action. Except maybe for the pilot of the plane that would carry Laura and his daughter to Port Charles. There was still some part of Luke that did not trust Cassadine. The only thing that kept him going was this ever growing need to see his son and of course the desire to beat the living daylights out of Stavros. As Luke walked out of the Chief of Securities office, he lit one of the Cuban Cigars that he swiped and joined the others at the main gate. The goons are taken care off. The ones who are alive will be out for a very long time and when they do awaken, they are not going to like where they wake up. Luke said with a devilish grin as he headed toward the plane. Everyone wondered what Luke had done, but now was not the time to ask. They both had long flights ahead of them and it was time to get moving. Stefan went inside the jet to help Nikolas with the pilot. Giving Luke and Laura time to say good- by. Luke, Im worried. Are you sure we can trust Stefan? I trust Nikolas, but Im not to sure about Stefan. She asked from the safety of Lukes arms. No, but as you say. You trust Nikolas. Luke said choking out the kids name. I would not even think about separating right now, if you didnt. I can handle old Stiff and besides this is all for Lucky. Dont forget about that, he said kissing her on the cheek while he brushed a stray strand of hair from her face. Luke promise me you will bring our son home. Its time for this game to end. Laura pleaded as she kissed him. Angle, if Lucky doesn't come home and neither do I. he answered after helping get Lu Lu settled. Both men left the plane and stayed to watch it take off. After words Luke tuned and headed for the copter. All right Stefan lets get my kid back. he said. Stefan almost completely missed the fact that Luke did called by his given name; no smart remark, no vampire crack just Stefan! He wasnt sure what to say after that. He decided that the best thing to do was say nothing. Their first part of the trip was traveled in silence, and the quiet was about to drive Stefan crazy. All the years he knew Luke Spencer quiet was not a word he would have used to describe him. Chapter 7 Back to Lucky's Hell |
