He was carrying Lucky�s sketchpad. �He�s human,� thought Luke. Lucky had left it on the porch. He wanted to look threw it, but the idea that was what Stavros would do. Stopped him. Lucky was going to show them to him and no one else. After dropping off the pad and checking to see if Lucky was ok. Luke opened the door to find Laura awake. �Angle, you didn�t have to wait up,� he said crawling in beside her. �I have trouble sleeping without you here. I guess. I am not used to the fact that you can now come and go as you please.� she said moving into his arms. �How�s Lucky?� she asked. Luke told her about their little basketball game and conversation. �The first time in weeks. He showed an real life emotion.� he finished. �You should have seen him at supper. The day everyone else celebrates thanksgiving was the day Stavros picked. Stavros turned it into a public event. Lucky laid in his room healing thinking about what was coming and when the day came, Stavros made Lucky go into his room pick out the belt and come to the library. Stavros had the staff and the other family members there as well. I never understood until now. He did not have to beat me. He had Lucky!� Luke said sliding to his knees in tears. Laura climbed out of bed and held him. �Luke none of this is your fault. Stavros was just too much of a coward to face you head on. So he took all his frustrations out on a helpless boy.� she said. �Yes Laura it is my fault.
