Chapter Five

Sonny took all night but finally when Luke joined him at breakfast the old Luke
Spencer was with him. I made a fool of myself and Im sorry. I think I owe you
more then just a thanks. I think you kept my business working while I was out of
it. Luke said sitting down at the table.

Lets just say, your lucky that you have any one working for you. I did have to
double their salaries. Sonny said with a smile.

I did more then that. I have been yelling at Lucky a lot lately. He has been
bugging me to sale the house but I refused. Hes right we are dying in that
place. Laura wanted it and she everywhere. Sonny, could you help us find
something that the both of us could make a home? Luke asked.

I have the place that fits the bill. I bought Katherine Bells old place. You
can buy it from me and this way. If you start slipping I can stop you from going
to far. I do think getting rid of the house is for best for the both of you.
What are you going to do about Luckys school. Lauras wishes were plan no
matter what happened she wanted him to go to collage. Sonny said.

I thought of that. I did promise her that and I think finding someone to help
him get caught up over the summer might help. You think you can talk to the
school for me. I am not on best of terms with the Vice Principle. We end up
yelling at each other every time. I left that man to Laura. Luke said.

I think he will do everything we want. Sonny said with a smile.

Luke found Lucky and Bobbie sitting at her table talking and eating breakfast.
Luke noticed for the first time how bad Lucky looked. He wondered if the kid ate
anything the past few months. Lucky was enjoying himself for the first time in
along time. He jumped when the door opened and Luke stood there in the doorway.
I have to go Aunt Bobbie. Lucky said and looked at his father to see what mood
he was in.

Luke noticed this and winced inwardly. Has he been that bad over the past months
that even Lucky jumps at the sight of him. Bobbie was glaring at him and he knew
he was in for it from her. Sit and eat. We dont have to leave. I think we all
need to talk. First, I have been acting like a jerk and Im sorry. Luke said
and sat down.

You hungry? Bobbie asked.

No, Sonny had breakfast ready when I woke up. Luke said looking at Lucky. He
was staring at him and Luke could tell he was trying to figure out how to start.
Cowboy, I know I havent been the greatest person to live with and Im sorry.
You took a lot of crap from me lately and you were right when you said that
place was killing us. Sonny offered me Kats old penthouse. You want it and we
will move in as soon as possible.

You mean it? Lucky asked.

Yes, I think it is time to move on. I will always miss Laura and Lu but if we
dont start doing something then we are as good as dead. Luke said.

Your back. Lucky said more as a statement then a question. He looked at his
father and saw the man he used to love and respect.

Im back and Im not going anywhere for a very long time. Luke said. Lucky
stood up they hugged. Lucky felt safe around his father again and the fear of
loosing him was gone.

Bobbie watched the two of them and said, About time. Luke, we were about to
give up on you.

Sis, you have my permission to kick my ass if I get that way again. Luke said
to her.

I will do that and so will Ruby. Youre in for it when you see her next.
Bobbie warned him.

I figured a lot of people are ready to kill me. Im amazed you didnt come in
and offer Lucky a home a long time ago. Luke said.

I was going to but it would have just made you worse. The only person who kept
you from going over the edge was Lucky. Edward Quartermaine said something at
the funeral and I have a few choice words for him the next time we meet. Bobbie
said.

Luke looked at her and she told him what Edward said and how it kept Lucky
coming to them for help. I will wring that old mans neck. He has no right
sticking his noise in my familys life. Luke growled.

Luke, Im glad to see you are back to normal. So, big brother whats the plan?
Bobbie asked.

You want to call my friends and family who are willing to talk to me. I dont
want to go through that house alone. We need to start over but getting rid of
everything isnt right either.

Your friends havent left you we just been staying out of your way. You have
been a bear lately. Bobbie said.

I wasnt that bad. Luke said in his defense.

Yes you were. Bobbie and Lucky said together.

I said I was sorry. Luke said. What more do you want from me. I dont say
that very often.

I know we were just joking with you. Its been a long time since you have been
about to do that. Bobbie said.

The Spencers sat around talking about things that needed to be done before
moving. Sonny was having the place cleaned and all the systems checked out. It
would be ready by the end of the week. Bobbie told Luke and Lucky to say with
her until they were set up in the new house. She didnt want then to go back the
way they were. The next day all of the family and friends Bobbie could find were
going to be at the house to get it ready for sale.
