Chapter Twenty Five

Lucky sat in Stefan's room, exploring the Internet. He was looking up
information on his father. Lucky was about to down load some files when Alexis
walked in and pulled the plug on the computer. She was yelling at him for the
first time in years. "What do you think you are doing? Do you want to get hurt?
Do you want to see Stefan get hurt? Go to your room, I'll be there in a little
bit," She demanded.

Alexis worked on erasing the information from the system and placing some false
files. She calmed down greatly and when she got to Lucky's room. Alexis was hit
by the sight that greeted her. Lucky was sitting on the floor, holding a belt in
his hands waiting for her arrival. He had dried tears on his face but looked as
if he could start again. Alexis' heart broke when she looked in his sad eyes.
Lucky looked up at her and held out the belt. She took it and flung it across
the room. "I'm not going to hit you. Come here, Lucas," Alexis ordered him and
sat down on the bed. He got up and slowly went to her, afraid of what might
happen. "Lucas, you could have gotten not only you but all of us in big trouble.
Stefan told you not to look up information on your father, but you did. Why?"
she asked him putting arm around his shoulder.

"I just want to know what he looks like and know the real truth, not the stuff
you all tell me. I know you say things only because you are told to. I'm sorry,"
Lucky cried.

She held him and waited for Lucky to calm down enough to begin again. "I know
you are but that doesn't change things. I would never hit you but you are
grounded for the rest of the time the others are away. I don't want to see you
out of this room. I'll have your meals brought up to you," She said looking at
him sternly.

"All right," Lucky said.

She kissed him on the cheek and left the room. Alexis did that to get him not to
think about his father so much but she realized deep down it wasn't going to
work. The more they lied, the more he craved the truth.
