| Chapter One Luke watched Laura and Lucky walk up and down the strawberry patch picking berries. He watched his son put a couple of berries in his mouth before putting any in his basket. Luke turned his head for a second and when he looked back, Lucky was laying on the ground acting strange. Luke ran to his son and picked him up. Luckys face was red and several blotches were all ready appearing. Laura had joined him looking frightened. The owners of the strawberry patch called an ambulance and they raced Lucky to the hospital. Lucky stayed in the hospital over night but they were allowed to take him home afterwards. Luke was going to leave that day, but Lucky wasnt feeling very well and traveling with a sick five-year-old wasnt a good idea. Lucky started to get a fever and Laura had checked on him several times during the night. Laura had just left Lucky's room and headed toward Luke. He was in the kitchen going over their travel plans when all hell broke out. The door busted in and a group of men rushed in with guns. Luke yelled, Get Lucky and get out. Luke reached for his gun but a dart hit him in the arm, knocking him out. Laura had only made it half way down the hall, to the bedroom, when a dart hit her in the back. A fancy elderly lady walked in and headed to Luckys bedroom. She found the boy lying on the bed. He looked up asking her in a small voice. Where are my parents? She smiled at him and picked him up. Helena Cassadine carried Lucky out of the bedroom. The five-year-old saw his parents being gathered up and started to cry. Helena softly talked to the boy, telling him everything was going to be all right, but Lucky knew better. These were the bad people that wanted his parents hurt and now they had them, he thought. Lucky started to kick Helena and wiggle out of her arms. He even sunk his teeth into her arm, but she didnt let go. Helena spoke softly to the child. Its going to be all right. Your parents are just a sleep. They will be coming with us. Helena sat in the car and rocked Lucky back and forth. She started to sing a lullaby to him. Lucky tried to stay away but because of the rocking and the fever. He soon was a fast a sleep. Lucky was taken to main Cassadine compound in Greece, while Luke and Laura were taken else where. The boy stayed in bed for over a week because of the fever, but slowly he got better. Meanwhile, Luke and Laura were trying to figure out what had happened. Luke woke up in a small room. He was lying on a cot, but tried to struggle to his feet. Luke realized that Laura and Lucky were gone. He pounded on the door trying to get someones attention. Laura, meanwhile, was in the main part their prison. For all appearances, it looked like a normal home, but looks were deceiving. There was kitchen, living room, a small bathroom, and bedroom. They even had a small back yard, but with a high brick wall and guards with guns pointing down. She didnt feel like sitting outside. Laura was worried about Luke and Lucky. She prayed her son was with his father. Otherwise, she hated to think of where he was. Suddenly, the curtain parted revealing a large glass wall. Stavros Cassadine stood looking at her with contempt in is his eyes. Laura, I hope you like your new home. I had it decorated with you in mind. Luke will be joining you soon, but Lucky is with me. Im going raise him as my son and if things work out, he will never see either of you again. Stavros told her. Stavros, dont do this. she pleaded. You have one of my sons. I beg you dont take the other one, too. Laura, you left me for Luke. So, you have him. Im taking Lucky for the penalty of walking away from me. Stavros said, as the curtain closed. Laura sank to her knees and cried in agony. She wanted her son and nothing could ever change that. Luke was shoved into the room, a few minutes later. He found her still on the floor, crying. He walked over to her asking her what was wrong. She looked up and said. Stavros has Lucky and is keeping him. We are never going to see our son again. Luke looked around the room and said. Dont worry. Ill think of something. Lucky will be with us soon. Laura tried to believe him but something told her that he was wrong. She couldn't get the look of Stavros glee out of her mind. He acted as he had thought of everything.
